JasX Survey 2023 - Part 1
Added 2023-01-22 14:32:08 +0000 UTCHello very neglected patreon account. You may have noticed a lack of posts, but that's not because I've stopped developing things, but rather that I much prefer posting updates on Discord (discord.jasx.org if you didn't know) since they don't require paywalling to post adult content. I definitely appreciate everyone willing to donate to development though! Especially since most of my projects are free and open source, which means I don't earn as much as if I was to make them proprietary.
Anyhow, Patreon still remains a decent place for long format posts, so that's why I'm putting the year in review, survey, and yearly roadmap.
This year's survey had 210 responses, which is a good upswing from last year's 150-something. I also trimmed out some of the fat, making the survey a bit shorter than previous years.
Let's just start with an infodump:

Kudos to the one person who voted "NONE >:["

As far as other collar systems go, the only one that was mentioned more than once was Mesmerize Dungeon. I haven't heard of that one before, so I can't comment on it.

Just for fun, this is a graph of the difficulty levels currently active GoThongs players use:

I'm actually surprised that almost half the players own a VR headset. I'll likely get one some day, but it wouldn't be very useful for SL games I guess.

I may or may not be using this question to advertise stuff. We shall never know.

Since people have been feeling negative about Twitter, there's a similar thing called Mastodon. It's like Twitter, but anyone can setup their own server and interact with others from other servers, provided YOUR server isn't blacklisting theirs. Basically a glorified RSS reader. I setup the danglytube peertube video hosting site to allow lewd machinima when the hub mostly stopped accepting user uploaded stuff. So I was thinking about setting up a peertube for those who don't like twitter. At least 84 people said they were interested, so I may investigate if it'd be possible. Definitely join the JasX discord if you want to discuss it.

Ok so I actually intended for this question to be serious because I'm curious as north European doors tend to open outwards, whereas inwards is more common in America. But the whole question turned into innuendo so I may rephrase it next year.

People were fairly favorable to LL's performance this year.

Note: About 100 people responded, so cut these numbers in half and you'll get a percentage value representing the whole userbase.

For reference, the chip shortage seems to be getting better again, so hopefully we can make some new VibHubs this year.

Here's a list of which cons to go to if you want to meet the JasX users in real life, or which ones to avoid if you don't.
The next part will be more Q&A and the drama section. The last part will be the fetish section and the roadmap for 2023.
