COMING UP: Big Doc Editing & Art of the Cut

Here is what's coming in August to This Guy Edits and you as a patron:

First up is my interview/video essay with Steve Hullfish, author of the "Art of the Cut". We talk about the biggest lessons from the biggest editors. Hullfish interviewed dozens of them, including Oscar winners like Conrad Buff, ACE (Titanic), Tom Cross, ACE (Whiplash), Stephen Mirrione, ACE (Traffic), Lee Smith, ACE (Dunkirk) & Margaret Sixel, ACE (Mad Max: Fury Road). This video will drop August 18th.

Then, comes another video from the "Filmmakers at Work" series, where professionals open up their timeline and demonstrate how they think and work. We have Emmy Winning editor Mohamed El Manasterly talk about his Oscar nominated documentary "The Square" and also show us what he's currently cutting. I don't think I've met another editor that has been this organized when it comes to footage. This video will come towards the end of the month. Mohamed also did a Q&A with your questions that will only come to the Patreon platform.

Finally, we will have our first Live Video Hangout, "The Post Meeting", where patrons $3+ and I will discuss a featured topic as well as take questions from you. More details soon.
