Dear Patrons,
I'm still alive! If there was any doubt - I just feel like I've been offline for a good while. But that's certainly not because I've been idle. I'll try to be brief and to the point because there's plenty of work to get back to!
THIS MONTH'S PREVIEW:

This month's preview is an old classic, but it's been a while since I last posted the scene, and I'm pretty sure I did some color corrections since. If not, please forgive me - the episode will be out in just a couple of months and we are in the most post of post-production stages. I had hoped that I'd be able to share it with you with updated music, but I didn't want to hold off on making an update post any longer, so we just barely missed the mark on getting the track ready. I suppose it will be all the more of a surprise when you finally hear it!
EXHIBITION & ART BOOK:

Some great news: remember that application I was working hard on a couple of months ago? Well, we got the budget approved!! What that means is that we will have funding to both make a cool Tales of Zale Episode 3 exhibition in Copenhagen and Viborg around the release, AND to design and print a limited edition 'making of' book!!!!!! I am SUPER excited about that - but it also means that I've really got a lot of extra work on my plate because that book won't finish writing itself! I've got to hand it over to the designer pretty soon, so these are going to be some intense days.
The exhibition is of course mostly relevant to those who find themselves in Denmark, but the 'making of' book will be in English, and I count on selling it online as well while supplies last. I might set up a pre-order system to make sure those who really want one get one, but I still need to look into that. In the meanwhile, if anybody is interested in being test-readers before we send it off to print, you are very welcome to get in touch with me at sif@sifps.com :)
ANNECY

Just to get you up to speed, since last time, I attended Annecy, pitched the project a bit around, strategized with the team, and had a cozy time. Unlike a lot of the folks who made their return trip, I managed to get back in one piece without any of my flights getting canceled. But on the bus ride back to Viborg, I got surrounded by a lot of coughing, sneezing people not wearing masks returning from a music festival and low and behold, I got hit by a really bad cold afterward. It was intense, but luckily relatively short-lived. At least I could get back to work after 3 days, although I was still quite exhausted and would basically go straight to bed after finishing work each day. But it was important to be there in person as soon as possible because right after Annecy was when we began work on the Tales of Zale TV series trailer!
TV SERIES:
So I've basically been working my dream job, directing Tales of Zale during the full work day! And I am so frustrated that I'm not allowed to share this work with you right now, because the team has really been doing AMAZING. But I suppose that's just how it goes with these things. It is a lot to be directing, supervising, and production managing this team while also directing the sound for episode 3, finishing that up, and preparing the art book and exhibition. I am hereby promising myself a good and proper vacation once September comes to an end!
EPISODE 3:
Episode 3 progress comes at the bottom this time around because most of the remaining work right now are in the hands of the sound team, who are making steady progress. I still have a few more shots that I would like to touch up, and ideally, it'd be lovely to go through the episode just one more time. But unlike with an art book that needs to be handed off to a designer and sent to print, these little visual tweaks are some I can make all the way up till the last moment. So for this month at least, I am focusing my energy elsewhere and just trying to stay afloat with directing the music, SFX, and mixing. That in itself has been enough of a challenge when coming home from a long day of directing at work. But luckily we've already done most of the groundwork.
ROUND-UP:
That's it, I think - there's probably more, but I need to get back to writing the 'making of' book asap, so I will talk to you lateeeeer. Thank you for all of your support throughout this process <3
All the best,
- Sif
