WHAT'S UP with FA? + Sharing my other resourses

As I heard this morning, FA was under cyber attack and it is not recommended to visit it until things get clear? Anyone know if it got better, maybe?

Oh my gosh, thank you for telling me facts about what happened! I suppose the attack may be somehow related with 1) Twitter content 2) The fact that founder of FA had passed away. Trolls always take advantage for themselves regardless of which was the main reason. I hope this won't happen again!

2024-08-23 19:37:44 +0000 UTCThe gist of things is that a troll hacked the site most likely for attention, along with FA's official Twitter account (where they started uploading explicit imagery and retweeting sensitive content). They hijacked FurAffinity's DNS and caused the website to redirect to a forum known for rampant hate speech and attacks against queer, disabled individuals, and minorities. Among other things. As of now, the FA staff have managed to get ahold of their Twitter account.

2024-08-22 03:03:59 +0000 UTCSupposedly the FurAffinity staff has everything cleared up now but are still keeping the site locked while they double check everything and make sure it's safe, plus they don't want the servers to crash due to the influx of users returning all at once. My better judgement is telling me the site should still be avoided for a few days just in case the hacker comes back again, but it's been hard avoiding the site already with it basically being my home site when I open my browser on my tablet.
