we became gymnasts, director's commentary
Added 2022-05-07 21:31:00 +0000 UTCI actually cut around this VOD quite a bit. The original was somehow over an hour, so I reduced it to be more watchable.
19:10 - 24:59
To summarize:
Sharing your method outside of a small circle in the modern internet is not conducive to any development of creativity. It just helps to homogenize anything saleable into the assembly line of the "content-grind".
I avoid sharing information because retaining any sense of individuality comes from isolating through skill, and access. Furthermore, I don't look to my contemporaries for inspiration. It comes in music, art, photography and experiences.
That's not to say that I view myself as some monolith of "true" creativity; in fact, I don't really find anything I've made to be all that impressive. And I don't lack respect for those who view their content as a mass-marketed product, to be sold efficiently.
I just think one should find their own way. The resources for you to build are readily available. Asking for someone else's keys is cheap, and lazy.

I think it's just fun to watch someone as extremely cartoony as him in real life situations.

2022-05-17 13:52:54 +0000 UTCI know the Twomad voodoo video was really tough to make, and I'm sure that it was really uncomfortable in the moment, but it really is one of my fav videos on your channel. I just think he's such a character that throwing him in your typical Offcanny situations brings out this completely different dynamic. He's like a cartoon character in the real world, and I feel like that makes it kinda easy to play off of whatever he's doing.

2022-05-08 18:26:03 +0000 UTCWould be great to see an extended cut of the vids featured on the patreon. The argument sounds hilarious. Also I love the Chefs video. I've rewatched it and the bartenders video countless times. It would be awesome to get directors commentary of those videos. Maybe featuring Trevor for one? Idk. I do really enjoy your individual perspective, sometimes it's just interesting to think what Trevor's own retrospective thoughts would be on some of the vids.

2022-05-08 02:57:11 +0000 UTCI’m a little buzzed and at first glance I misread “director’s” and read the entire thing as “we became dictators”. I think that’d be an interesting video😂

2022-05-08 02:56:21 +0000 UTCYoo, a paintball or airsoft video could be pretty funny. Give Trevor a chance to put his secret agent skills to the test, and the pain of getting popped would feed the masochistic undertones of some of your videos :P Filming it might be hard though
