This film is about Harold, who is a mentally unstable IRS worker, and one day starts hearing narration that starts to affect his day to day life. He slowly learns he is the protagonist of a book being written by Karen Eiffel (Emma Thompson). Does Shawn still like this movie? Does everyone else still think it's lame? Tune in to find out!

Soderbergh is my favorite director & it will be cool to see your guys’ take on a movie that has a lot more depth and artistic merit than it probably deserves. Wrote an essay about just the rave scene for a film site & always enjoy revisiting the flick.

2020-05-31 20:49:56 +0000 UTCI thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie. I feel like its not perfect; namely the ana pascal character being just so over the top and inconsistent. I'm glad you guys mentioned the love subplot being poorly executed; the "I want you" line and the amount of repetition there made me feel very uncomfortable. But besides that I had a lot of fun watching this. Dustin Hoffman's character and that scene where he finally believes Harold because of "little did he know" because he taught lectures based on "little did he know" is a highlight for me.
