Oh man, Garret got screwed over by the Pro Controller's D-pad, looks like it happened to Derrick and Shawn a couple times too. Turns out it will sometimes falsely register Left or Right inputs as Up and no one ever really noticed until this game came out. Big shame since it's such an amazing controller otherwise, but EVERYBODY is having issues with it. You can turn off fast drop in the settings if you want. All the Tetris experts are saying to just use Joycons though, apparently they consider d-pads made up of disconnected buttons to be better for high-level play.
