A nice update on the Streets of Rage complete history video for y'all
Here is the latest edited version... the 1st 20 minutes are fully edited and the last 20 minutes is just audio
Here is a link to very hard to find western design document for the game... this is already public, but hardly ever seen before (please do not share until the video is public)
And finally here is the quote from the ex-head of SEGA of AMERICA, the guy responsible for bringing games such as sonic the hedgehog and Streets Of Rage 2 to market
“ It was very important for us to release Streets of Rage in the US. Remember that our strategy was to market to an older audience than Nintendo did, and Streets of Rage certainly appealed to that teen and college market. It was an action filled game actually constant action, easy to get into, but somewhat difficult to complete, and the great music was also really appealing to our audience. Hence it was really important to us strategically. After it was successful, we wanted a 2nd game, but because it had not been that successful in Japan, SOJ didn’t want to do it. It took lots of phone calls across the pacific cajoling, and begging to finally get SOJ to agree to do Streets of Rage2. In my opinion it was even better than the first game, again the fast action and music was great. It certainly was a huge & Important part of our successful strategy to go after an older audience and differentiate ourselves from Nintendo.”
One last update not mentioned in the video. The audio is fully edited (besides the intro) and it is sitting at 58 minutes and 20 seconds (so 100% it will be over an hour after I made my introduction

Seriously, I’m no grammar aficionado, so from where I’m sitting it’s all good to me. I think it’s cool that we get a rare opportunity to get a look at a script! You won’t hear me ever complain! I welcome all errors! I believe, just the other day my Wife finally helped me with learning my left from my right. You should see me drive! Unless you’re on a “Back to the Future” hoverboard, you might be in grave danger!
