Presenting my copies, "Curwen" and "Whateley"

In making this book it occurred to me to actually bind two copies for myself, an aged but well preserved specimen (nicknamed the Curwen), and a worn, weathered, and damaged copy (the Whateley). I'm experimenting with a number of additional aging techniques that will make for fun posts down the road.

While I would NEVER advocate harming oneself, I did find a bit of red red krovvy on hand after a nail trimming accident and so I added it to the Whateley cover page. I look forward to seeing how it ages over the years.

And yes, I will be heavily damaging page 751 of the Whateley copy.

Blood certainly turns an unattractive dull brown over time, maybe eventually black. Hollywood lied!

If I recall, as blood ages and oxidizes it darkens and eventually turns black. As per the rest of us, everyone that wants to stain their tome in a bit of vino needn't tolchock or knife anybody; check with the local butcher about getting animal blood, or something like that.

Very cool :)
