HUGE News and Updates - July 2019

- Okay so far this month -  Made enough this month on Patreon to pay our rent and a little toward food. But we will likely still be making up the rest in commissions later in the month. Thanks to all of you and your ongoing support, though I am still trying to increase Patrons. I had 203 Patrons last June, and I have 120 now.

- The BIG Bad News. If you're not already aware, Patreon has slowly gone from a place for artists and free expression, to slowly weeding out people they find don't match their very specific set of morals. On one hand, they're trying to scare off pro-hate groups, but on the other, they're shutting down adult artists who draw anything remotely ambiguous such as violence, hypnosis, and now even transformation and deception. You all know I do not support or glorify real-world sexual violence or non-consent of ANY kind. But fetish fiction/art featuring these things is no more encouraging of that behavior in the real world than Fortnite is encouraging kids to break apart buildings and shoot each other (or we'd all be dead right now). Psychologists have proved again and again that watching, reading, or playing media that features objectionable behavior does NOT lead to acting out that behavior in real life.

That said, Subscribe Star (another platform similar to the way Patreon originally was) appears to be an option. They have been vilified for being a safe harbor for the pro-hate groups, so much that Paypal (who already has unrealistic policies against using their services for anything adult) won't let Subscribe Star use them. Meanwhile, nobody cares what happens to the artists who just want to get paid so they can eat. This would be like activists calling for a boycott of ALL of YouTube because there are a few users who post pro-hate videos. Boycott the users, not the service! Innocent people are losing their livelihoods because of these political battles. Take it outside.

Anyway, I'm working on getting my Subscribe Star account up and running... it's not quite as good as Patreon (Not accepting Paypal is probably the hardest thing for many of you). And the payout system isn't as good for me. But I need a place where I feel free to post the art that I want, without fear that it will cost me my job or take away the artistic freedom that makes my art what it is. I will still be posting here on Patreon for as long as I can keep adjusting to their policies (or until they finally decide something ridiculous like "Furry is Zoophilia" or some other bullshit that just makes it impossible to draw anything). In the meantime, any art that has anything remotely ambiguous as far as consent goes will end up posted on Subscribe Star.

- The BIG Good News. My wife Lina just found out today, that she has a new work-from-home job. This job actually pays a living wage. I hesitate to celebrate, as life tends to punch us pretty hard, so "counting chickens before they've hatched" isn't a good idea. But what it COULD potentially mean: 1. Neither of us would have to beg for work to supplement our income, allowing my queues to get caught up faster, and eventually FNAB/FNAB2 as well. 2. We could afford insurance for Lina's surgeries, our teeth, and both of our crippling health issues. 3. Our general quality of like could go up dramatically, allowing us to focus on enjoying life and helping others rather than month-to-month survival. Please note that we still need your help in the meantime... she doesn't start until mid-July, and won't be paid probably for a month or more. And we have no idea if it will work out in the long run... but god, we are so hopeful.
