News & Concerns - Jan 2019

 - Very worried about decrease in income. In addition to what I mentioned in last month's letter about the future of free speech and the purge of adult content that has swept so many people away, we have had the largest drop in pledges we've ever had. December was officially the worst month we've had financially in 2 years. And I don't mean "We had an unexpected expense" or "We spent too much money on travel/gifts", I mean my Patreon income for December 2018 hasn't been that low since November 2016. I went from my best month ever ($1348) in October, down to $822 in December. That's a devastating $526 (39%) less income per month. It hit us hard, and if not for some last minute begging for commission work (which was also extremely bad in December), we would not have been able to afford our already minimal utility bills. I don't know if it's the economy, a drop due to holiday spending, people leaving Patreon, or something I'm doing wrong, but we can't survive months this bad. This month is already off to a scary start, barely breaking the $700 mark required for rent on my end. Lina and I do Patreon to pay bills (when things are good), and make up whatever we need for food, medicine, and anything else via commissions. And if both are doing poorly, it's like being laid off or having hours cut at a full time job.

- Focus on the queue. I feel like much of the reason people have not been ordering new work as much/often, is the months-long wait in my main queue. Thanks to FNAB2:Ep3 being nearly done, this month's light work putting finishing touches on it will allow me to focus on really digging into the work in my main queue. I'm hoping to really get a large portion of back-ordered content done this month for you here on Patreon and on FA.

- A very scary month - I barley made enough this month on Patreon to pay our rent. I am worried about this. I have been a dedicated Patreon creator since April 2015. I don't want to see what I've built for so long be lost. I had 203 Patrons in June. I have 115 now. Did the FNAB2:Ep3 delays really lose me 88 patrons?

(God, I'm tired of making that estimate wrong, but the hard part is over, so unless I fall into a coma or spontaneously combust, this WILL be 100% finished and polished this month).
