[...] We label Drones as being part of a Collective, based on their own communications with us, but this appears to be mistranslated. They are not a full digital hive-mind in the traditional sense, like a network of construction droids or train AIs. Rather, it appears that in their own language, they make a distinction between a Hive-Mind Collective, and a cooperative Collective of individuals. They - or at least, this specific sect of Drones - are the latter kind. As we have observed, Drones have unique appearances, personalities, voices, and experiences in the way any organic life-form does.
However, we have also observed that this individuality can be forcefully overridden by Station Management.
In the event of an emergency, Station Management is able to broadcast a signal that overrides all of their Drones' executive functioning, their body-lights turning pure white and expressions going blank. This process is instantaneous, with no resistance mounted by the Drones themselves. Whether this is because they are willing to accept a temporary loss of autonomy - or because they are functionally incapable of resisting their Masters - is not yet known. This state of direct control is usually brief - lasting until the crisis is resolved - at which point all Drones return to normal, appearing to have no memories of what happened during that time.
I surmise that, to them, it is like going unconscious. Though their body moves, the mind that controls it is no longer their own.
Speaking of Station Management, Drones seem to have a universal infatuation with them, no doubt because Management is so ridiculously- [// REPORT FRAGMENTED //] -Drone relationships are intimate and fluid, forming romantic webs of hundreds of individuals that make Human polycules pale in comparison.
This seems to present no issues for them, however, and their physical intimacy seems to extend to organic beings as well.
One particular -[// REPORT FRAGMENTED //]- let me use their gigantic bulge as a mattress. And it was the best sleep I ever had.
