Cold therapy, last hope

Wim Hof breathing method, day 6. Today was my first Wim Hof method cold exposure treatment... You do the breathing exercise, then you jump into a cold shower or ice bath....

Context: water stings me anywhere there are cracks in my skin, like getting poked with needles. I just took my bleach bath yesterday, and thus a lot of that pain was then, and mostly healed today. So only a few painful spots on my arms and neck.

Did 2 rounds of breathing (on top of the 3-4 I did a few hours ago) then
started with room temp/warm, to get the pain spots wet first and get used to being wet. Then I cut off the heat...

To quote a Patton Oswalt joke "It's like not jerking off for 10 years, and then PAINTING THE GARAGE! OH MY GOD! I'M SEEING DEAD KINGS!!"

Seriously though, I'm a Rollercoaster fanatic, and this was probably more intense than any coaster I have been on. It was a strange combination of adrenaline and pain-like intensity... The kind I imagine one does with BDSM; it hurts but your brain sends chemicals to make it... Good? Kinda? I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't hate it, and if this is gonna fix my life, I have to do it 5-7 times a week. Supposedly, after doing it daily for a while, you get to enjoy it. Fingers crossed. Not to mention, people who train with Wim Hof can apperently walk up snowy mountains almost naked after just 4 days.

Anyway, minimal goal was 5-15sec. I was aiming for 30sec, and was counting... Made it somewhere over a minute before losing count.

Now that I'm calmer and dry, my face feels tight. Like in a good way I guess? Like someone just shrinkwrapped new skin onto my head. You can Google the effect of cold showers for details, but TL;DR = better immune system, less inflammation, resistance to stress and cold. And people have cured their skin with it, so it's my turn.

This week I'll be focusing on this, trying to bully my skin disease into submission. If I don't see some serious results by the 14th, I'm gonna try to go to that research hospital.
