Sketch comic - No more waiting

A friend introduced me to some really awesome international furry animation. Among it was "Ну, погоди!" (Pronounced "Nu, Pogodi", roughly translated as "Well, Just You Wait!").

It's an old Soviet that started in the late 60s, and though the main run ended years ago, it still resurfaces with new content now and then, including a revised cgi series.

The old animation itself is stellar, easily in the same league as other theatrical quality shorts of the era. It features a predator vs prey premise, and lies somewhere between Tom and Jerry and Pink Panther in tone and feel. Some amazing music choices as well in the background. It also doesn't lean into "Soviet Propaganda", so there's much less "yikes" than you'd expect from a space-race/cold-war era USSR state funded project. In fact, if you dubbed it and changed the text, most kids or adults wouldn't know it's anything other than "probably foreign".

Much like Tom and Jerry, there's not always a 'cat needs to eat mouse' so much as the Wolf is just trying to catch the Hare, is rivals with him, etc. It is implied that he intends to eat him, but the subtle nuances of their rivalry make them almost like, Batman and Joker- where the antagonist enjoys the hunt almost to a point of obaession or a stalker. Couple that with some random times where they 100% get along for a few minutes at a time, and you will be asking what so many ask: 1. "wait, is this dynamic/what's the wolf planning to do with the Hare?". And with the big eyelashes, female voice actor, and androgynous fashion sense 2. "Is the Hare a girl or a guy?"... So there's this almost Beastars-like 'eat it or f*** it' vibe. Every character is adorable, and the gags range from engaging to hilarious. I highly recommend checking the shorts out for yourself. There are less than 3hrs worth of them, and they are all on YouTube.Much like Tom and Jerry, there's not always a 'cat needs to eat mouse' so much as the Wolf is just trying to catch the Hare, is rivals with him, etc. It is implied that he intends to eat him, but the subtle nuances of their rivalry make them almost like, Batman and Joker- where the antagonist enjoys the hunt almost to a point of obaession or a stalker.
