TFO #90: Discussing Moneyball
Added 2020-06-18 06:49:11 +0000 UTCBrad Pitt, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jonah Hill, Spike Jonze... put them all together, throw in a dash of baseball and you have yourself a hell of a movie. This week the guys dig in and discuss all their favorite Moneyball moments.
Plus we catch up on all the NBA news and maybe even fire up the Travoltafier for a couple names.

2020-06-19 23:20:32 +0000 UTCNever have I yelled at a podcast as much as I did when Andy said he didn't know the words to one week

2020-06-19 21:49:27 +0000 UTCMy mom bought me Smash not knowing how profane it was. I had to keep that under the radar. Only movie rental that ever got pulled was “The Ref”. Probably saved me some time there.

2020-06-19 04:27:18 +0000 UTCCutting Class is the Brad Pitt horror movie where he plays a high school basketball player. It’s okay. One of the old guys from Brooklyn 99 has a great death scene.

2020-06-18 23:45:32 +0000 UTCTo me it’s very funny that they adress Brad Pitt’s character as Mr Beane the entire movie

2020-06-18 21:11:52 +0000 UTCjust wanna say, the movie idea is so good. i watched with my friend who also loves tfo who’s across the county who i haven’t seen in a while and although i didn’t really like the movie, the experience of watching it with my friend and then getting to hear my other friends talk about it.. was so fun. and hearing how much sean liked even the smallest little details made me like it more 😍

2020-06-18 17:00:44 +0000 UTCAbsolutely LOVE Moneyball. One of the best sports movies ever! But the best sports movie ever is Whiplash, which you should watch for next week.

2020-06-18 16:10:40 +0000 UTCEveryone in the Twin Cities has "six degrees of Atmosphere" (and Prince, of course). Mine is that my sister kissed Ant's tiny mustache. Pretty starstruck when I heard that

2020-06-18 15:07:46 +0000 UTCMoneyball is the best baseball movie because it replaces the most boring part of baseball movies (people playing baseball) with something way more exciting (guy trying to balance a budget)

2020-06-18 14:00:02 +0000 UTCBad Habit got me in trouble back in the day. I borrowed the CD from a friend and my mom read the lyrics in the CD booklet (wanna feel old?). After that, she would demand to read all of the lyrics for any CD I bought.

2020-06-18 13:40:06 +0000 UTCBrad Pitt to me is the quintessential actor that you have to convince yourself to like. Like, when you first see him, you assume he's only in movies because of his good looks, so you pick him apart more than you would otherwise. And then the more you see him, the more you realize the guy is legit. Leonardo DiCaprio was another one of those for me.

2020-06-18 13:22:42 +0000 UTC1) Bad Habit is absolutely on Smash. It slaps. 2) Flood is a perfect album. I've been talking about it a lot lately. 3) I am DYING to know what 2 songs Sean picked from the Wu-Tang albums... specifically 36 Chambers.
