2022-03-29 23:19:38 +0000 UTCI do think sometimes the whole “plebs can’t say shit about this famous person, they’re just jealous” thing is silly though, because people take that too far to defend like politicians and shitty CEOs and stuff. But more pertinent to this conversation, sometimes the “you haven’t done anything” narrative makes me a little uncomfortable. I don’t want to be an entertainer or an athlete so if I were to make fun of SNL or say a player was trash it’s not out of bitterness or whatever. It’s just me voicing my opinion on culture like anyone else, not going at anyone directly to annoy or harass them or take them down to “my level” or whatever, just like how I know Carl isn’t jealous of Luka when he talks shit. There’s a difference between that and being a troll/hater. I think in general people elevate and talk about celebrities way too much.

It's clear he wasn't going for the jugular, as evidenced by the "It's a GI Jane joke" exclamation after the slap. I can't see any comedian(looking at you Tiffany Haddish) condoning anything Will Smith did. You sensitive about your appearance, don't sit in the front.

It is such an honorable and evolved perspective that focuses on the ISSUES not the individuals, and is the greatest protection of African American women and the intersectional oppression they live with. At the end of the day, violence is the root of the issue, and men using violence to protect women from men using violence is a fallacy and only indicative of the cycle of violence. However, if you want to cast blame for men and violence on individuals, it starts with white men.

Is it that in the same way that people are talking Abt Will's transgression being erroneous bc it was a black man against another black man, Chris Rock also made an additional transgression as a black man making a joke about the way Jada, a black woman looked, for a bunch of white people who have displayed micro aggressions in the forms of jokes, etc. Towards African American actors for years? Like that environment is not equally validating for African Americans. You have to do infinite more than the white people that laughed and there are infinitely fewer opportunities?
