TFO #198: GORP

The Ones dig into some studies, peruse some deals, and review some lyrics in our offseason era. Grab a bag of GORP, a big ole glass of milk, and tune in.

One of my freshman classes in college was taught by Jason Mraz’s uncle. Apparently on a west coast tour Jason phoned his uncle to ask if he could sleep on his couch for a night. His uncle declined and said that Jason has always been kind of an asshole lmao.

Hayes' story about being recognized while running reminded me of my missed opportunity back in ~2016. My old office building in NYC was occasionally used as a location for film/tv and one day when I was heading home, I had to pass through a shoot in the lobby and spotted someone who looked like Hayes (based on Earwolf show photos at that point) standing against the wall. I wasn't 100% sure it was him until I was through the revolving door, then saw that the shoot was for Divorce and googled to confirm he was writing on it. Always wondered if he would have appreciated a "what up what up" or if that would have just confused/embarrassed him on set.

I'd love to get some WNBA news or headlines sprinkled throughout this summer. Sky are set to repeat and I'm just excited about their season and am getting more invested in the league in general. Why not have each host pick a team to root for if they don't have one already.

Kelsey absolutely went off on this one damn. Andy so far in the rear view all that’s left to see are two tiny bumps slowly fading away into the ether

When they were talking about reading lyric CD case inserts, I immediately jumped to the same Fastball album Hayes did. I also specifically remember checking the lyrics to Fire Escape because I just couldn't nail down part of the chorus. Turns out the part I was puzzled by was literally the words "fire escape". Rarely in my life have I felt dumber. But love that Hayes also was into that album.
