Sean's comment about the Big Apple reminded me that in in the 80's Cleveland tried out the slogan, "New York may be the Big Apple, but Cleveland's a Plum." The Cleveland Plain Dealer gave out bumper stickers in the Sunday paper. Not surprisingly it did not catch on, but the color is seared into my brain.
