2023-02-03 02:20:18 +0000 UTCAlso, all in all I think it’s probably foolish to ascribe much meaning to those L2M numbers. the criteria of “games that are within one possession during the last two minutes” is very narrow: most of the teams had about 15-25 such instances, I.e. around 30-40% of their total games, and the last 2 minutes only represents about 4% of a full NBA game. Meaning this data covers less than 2% of the total time that refs have spent officiating this season. You could use the numbers to explain an individual team’s record in close games but it’s probably not enough to establish any overarching patterns of officiating
