I didn't watch as much back that, but my memories of 2000s are specifically people going nuts for passes from Kidd, Nash, Paul, etc.

2023-09-08 01:26:43 +0000 UTCAny plans to rank the coaches of the NBA? I very much enjoy the liberal tiers and, as a pretty new NBA fan, I actually find it helpful to get to know the players. I would love that same potentially dubious insight for the head chiefs of each team.

2023-09-04 18:00:03 +0000 UTCI think it made sense after they discussed it more. They really meant the 90s-00s era when the Jordan archetype was the model of a superstar and then Kobe where passing was not as central to offense. LeBron had a big part in making it cool again as he was a superstar that was also a great passer.

2023-09-04 14:18:32 +0000 UTCYa know Carl predicted that Jonás Valanciunas was going to body Wemby but it was really Austin Reaves that Jonás Valanchewed up

2023-09-03 23:26:11 +0000 UTCIn culture and sports generally, absolutely. But Jokic and Luka specifically are not it, even tho I also personally can’t stand Luka. Jokic just won the title and Luka has almost no parallel statistically age for age. Reaves however is definitely getting the Great White Hope™️ treatment. Also the constant notion on the show that Jokic isn’t a fun player to watch is insane to me.

2023-09-03 03:00:50 +0000 UTCCarl’s spot-on about the overhype/deification of the white stars. I’m glad he talks about it, because it’s outrageous and frustrating how generally unacknowledged it is. I wonder how many decades it will be until Mickey Mouse lets sports journalism discuss it.

2023-09-02 06:38:34 +0000 UTCIndeed… Nor am I terribly interested in sweeping characterizations of each and every team’s fanbase. That all being said, I frickin love Carl, and this show.

2023-09-02 06:36:08 +0000 UTCYou all really weren’t excited when the Clippers came back from down 25 at home, without Kawhi, to advance to their first ever western conference finals?

2023-09-01 19:52:08 +0000 UTCit's true no one cared about passing until luka and jokic...players like magic johnson, steve nash, oscar robertson, etc. are just myths

2023-08-31 18:24:12 +0000 UTCAt 53:10 Carl Tart with the Paul McCartney “The Girl is Mine” drop from the Michael Jackson & Macca CLASSIC duet made me SO HAPPY that for one moment I forgot that the earth is on fire. Bless up!!!!!! (Edit: omg I wrote “Stevie Wonder” accidentally because of his duet classic “Ebony and Ivory” with Sir Paul).
