The tournament is pretty close to a soccer style tournament, and it's modeled after cups that teams participate in throughout the season in many soccer leagues. Main difference is this one is extremely short and only in the first month of the season. Something like the US Open Cup runs near the entire length of the season, just games are really spaced out. So this tournament will be interesting in making the first month of the season mean something, but not sure it will be taken seriously.
