2023-07-25 04:23:29 +0000 UTCI think a notable precursor to Charlie's "Heil Hitler" line is when the cops are first interviewing Barton and one of them says with thinly veiled disgust, "Fink. That's a Jewish name, isn't it?" And the name of the detective that Charlie says "Heil Hitler" to and then kills is literally "Deutsch." So I always interpreted Charlie's line as taunting the anti-Semitic cops. Love these conversations so much, thank you!!
