Really liked the Patrick Cotnoir Reference. After hearing about them on this show, I checked out the George Lucas Talk Show and have been enjoying it alot. Its also super cool Carl got to go bowling at the Whitehouse!

His weird ass batting stance too! I still think of Rob Deer’s weird hair.

Every time I think of Dennis Kucinich I think of a tweet by Ohio Internet personality Senator Meow, who said that Dennis is elfish and his wife is elvish. If you look at a picture of them it immediately makes sense.

Akron is it's own decent sized city/small metro area, but you can really consider it being Cleveland's backyard. It's better than when during Bengals games they try to make it as though Burrow is from right down the road from Cincy when Athens is further and a whole different world pretty much. Also, I remember that LeBron had the decision to come back to Cleveland before trading Wiggins because in his SI article he mentions several player by name he's excited to play with, including Dion Waiters lol, but not Wiggins and it caused a whole stir.

Re: the Anthony Bennett discussion: The YouTube links won't work, but I highly recommend listening Paul Williams's song Number One, and then his song Euroleague.

Hayes is great at this. And I love the way Carl in particular summarizes things: "Ted Stepien was a shithead."

Absolutely stoked to hear Hayes talk about the Connecticut Western Reserve, as a CTer I love telling people about Long Connecticut

Loved the Kucinich/Cavs recap and the coincidental '90s Indians chat. That first LeBron run with such flawed teams was incredible, and as much as I don't want to give Dan Gilbert any unearned credit, it wasn't just mismanagement - we got too good too fast to draft help, and nobody wanted to come play in Cleveland at that point, even with LeBron. There's a fun Cavs weirdo I think the fellas would enjoy learning about if they don't already know. Gary Suiter played 30 games for the Cavs in their inaugural season. He used to call the coach pretending to be a fan demanding more playing time. When he finally got the chance to start, they couldn't find him and thought he'd locked himself in the locker room, which he'd done multiple times already. They found him at a concession stand, in uniform, eating a hot dog and drinking a beer right before tipoff. After he was cut, he just kept showing up to practices and games and wouldn't leave unless they gave him $450 for plane fare for him and his nonexistent wife: https://x.com/automaticnba/status/1781157350423892352

A Travis Fryman shout out on the Flagrant Ones? Now you’re speaking my language. The player the Tigers tried to push out Hall of Famer Alan Trammell for, until finally moving Fryman to third. I could talk shitty 90’s Tiger teams for days.

I love these city history things Hayes & Carl have been doing, I guess I'm a history nerd. Also, I'm not a huge basketball fan and do listen here mostly for the jokes not the Jokic's
