They got blown out by the Pats on SNF, and during the 4th there was a shot of a dejected Ben Rothlisberger on the sidelines. You saw a man not just realizing that his career was on the downswing, but locked in a full-on existential crisis; a moment of clarity where he recognized for the first time that he was aging, being forced to confront his own mortality. And then I remembered "Oh yeah, this guy's an asshole, he's been credibly accused of sexual assault and is worth millions of dollars, but he'll never face real consequences or know any kind of material need for the rest of his life. Screw him!" (And he STILL played for two more crappy years!)

Barry Bonds was my guy growing up. my dad took me on a west coast road trip in the summer of ‘01 and sat in the bleachers of Dodger Stadium for a couple of games against the Giants and had a blast. im a lifelong fan of the visiting team and American NHL arenas have always been the nastiest. people casually dropping homophobic insults.
