Poole had a couple of bad fouls which is why kerr opted for Lee

i was yelling at kerr for not challenging that jta foul but then the bang bang charge/block. and of course they get the missed FT rebound for a three. that was the game. before the game i was saying to myself this is gonna be a perfect game for mm and jk! little did i know they were still down in santa cruz.

yeah didn't make sense - I found myself wondering if maybe Steph asked for Lee over Poole, and Kerr was honoring his request.

Seriously, the Poole question: he was killing in the first suns game and they just kept going to steph even though he was clearly having a horrible night…are there seniority things going on here?!

Another great Uncle Alch breakdown. My thoughts: 1#: no matter what-there was a letdown after the Phoenix game. Even though they all were trying to guard against it-the NBA schedule is just hard and they succumbed. It would probably have been a great idea for Steph to miss this game and for JK and Moody to be on the floor a bit to give energy. Energy-both mental and physical-was what it was all about last night. #2: I see a lot of benefits from losing this game in the way that they did. The game was a close game and the Dubs haven't had nearly any of them-except in loses. When they are able to win some close games playing their starters against really challenging teams-that will give them confidence that when they are really challenged they can respond successfully. If they don't have a KD or other isolation scorer to up their chances-they will have to learn how to handle it when things get tough. I'm not saying they are not a great team-their record says they are-but I remember the playoff losses in 2016 being a taste that was so foreign, the team almost didn't know how to respond to it. Last year's team had some close wins down the stretch-I'm sure this team will too-but it's good overall to not worry too much about 19 wins vs 20. As the saying goes you often learn more in a loss than a win. #3: Steph does look tired. I'd agree that maybe he should rest a bit-I know he wants that MVP but I think he'd rather win a Finals over anything else (with a Finals MVP somewhere in there). Although I think they were all tired-he really looked it-he's looked it all week. Even the win over Phoenix showed a bit of fatigue. Of his fatigue-I think that the integration of Klay will be a welcome relief on many levels. It's been said that Steph is stronger now compared to a few years ago-and I don't think Klay has played with this stronger Steph. While it will take Klay awhile to get back-I think we're all excited to see this new physically strong Steph with Klay. If there's one thing that defines the Warriors new era (since 2012)-it's the Splash Brothers. Steph had gotten stronger realizing it was all on him for awhile-at some point he will be only double teamed, not triple-teamed as the threat of Klay starts to even out this franchise-defining attack.

I just can't believe the lack of in-game adjustments by Kerr after so many years, reminds me of Shanahan. Trusting the system rather than playing the game. Also why don't we address how hard our system makes it for Steph to get a shot, it may make it easier for other guys to get looks but what's the cost? Steph minutes maybe less than other top players, but the minutes he has are heavy just because we ask him to do so much for our team, then teams target him on D as well. Always been a problem I've had with Kerr not changing any of the energy for the team. His doghouse is dogshit.

I'm curious as to why Kuminga and Moody weren't called up to play? Back end of a back to back seems like a great place for the rooks to bring some energy. I was at the game last night and the energy was terrible initially but although my son kept saying, oh, they're going to lose, even he admitted he was wrong as they fought back. Love the team but I really felt Kuminga could have had an impact here.

I was sayin yesterday that this seemed like a possible trap game. back to back and right after big game. There was a definite psychological chance for a energy drain. Whether sports teams like it or not, they are also in the entertainment business. We like dunks, great moves, just watching Kyrie dribble... Anyway, why in the name of baby jesus are we not playing Kuminga. I mean this game was to be expected. Watching a Pop team play is like watching paint dry. It was a shit show. My God. Perfect time to give Kuminga playing time. Its probably obvious to most of us warriors fans this was going to be a perfect time , EVEN BEFORE THIS GAME, to play Kuminga. Please play Kuminga. Give him some experience. Let us see him grow, He has the highest upside and physical potential. If he gets a chance and some great coaching (hint), he could be something. Give us a taste ... Hey Kerr, I'm talking to you!

I was at this game and Poole looked upset he wasn’t out there and lee was. I can see why especially because poole can do a lil too much down the stretch but he was the only one who had any spark. Once Dray put up the post spin shot I knew it was over & Loon looked like he was gonna die walking to the bench when he came out in the 3rd. Steph really missed a free throw while everyone chanted mvp smh

Here is my theory... We are 1/4 of the season and we have a fair idea of how teams will rank except 5-10 in the Western Conference.
So we need to stay side by side with Suns to see who our potential first-round match-up will be. So we can't be too far off from the Suns to decide if we need to take the #1 or #2 spot

We all knew this game was coming, not shocked at all especially on the back end of a back to back against a Pop coached team not suprised at all. I'm curious to see if the crazy hot start is over and we are going to settle into a more normal 55 win type pace or if we rip off 10 wins in a row

Understandable they’re reeling. Going hard every night, missing a few high impact players, and they’ve seen what Klay looks like. And let’s not act like he hasn’t circled a return date behind closed doors... it’s the fiiiinal countdownnnn.

In the telecast they said that Kerr, Dray, and Step all talked about this being a trap game. They all knew what kind of game it was going to be. If all three discussed it, you can't blame Kerr, he's deferring to his superstars, and he HAS to do that.

Yeah I dont see Curry resting. This is his MVP to lose. They do have to stop playing him 4ths when they are are up 20. I just have no clue why Kuminga didnt play the last 3 games. Especially when Looney is getting raped out there by Ayton. Especially on a back to back. Everyone looked sore as hell. Is Kerr trying to make sure he doesnt come up on trade negotiations? 😂

Right on, Alc. This game would have been a nice chance to get the rooks some minutes. And their fresh legs would have come in handy.

Loon needs a break too IMO, but we don’t have anyone to take his place yet till Wiseman is back 😫. I’d petition for Kuminga to a shot at it for a beat!

This game is on kerr…he should know better…everyone could see what type of game this was way before it started…Good lesson for the team…this season is a grind and we need all the help we can get…except for chiozza…you can’t convince me that he’s an actual nba player….he has a 1:3 ratio…this year Wanamaker….I’m done with him.

100% agree w/ everything you mentioned in the breakdown. I hope we get to see Kuminga & Moody the next few games- they’ve been playing great in the G league. It would be awesome if Steph got a week rest (missing 2 games isn’t so bad). It’ll be great to have him recharged as Klay is coming back- it’ll be good times for Dubnation to kick off the New Year 😎

could've used wiseman in this game, his size and athleticism would've helped a lot. loon was non existent, absolutely no rim protection. murray and lonnie were gliding to the rim the whole game.

Blessing in disguise. Now we know Curry is human, he also needs to rest. If he want to beat MJ and be the GOAT, he needs to win at least 3 more champs. It is a long road ahead, so he has to manage the load.
