2023-08-27 22:49:36 +0000 UTCI was playing Hoops in Mich when Magic was a Freshman at Mich. state, I loved him. If u zoned him he would lob u to death, if u played Man he was too big for any guards to guard him. For the Lakers the old heads all know what he did, he was one of a kind. But, he couldn't shoot, and he didn't play any D at all. As time has gone on I've come to believe that Bird was better, Bird was of course slower as was his team, but he was also a magician with the ball, a great passer, a better rebounder than Magic, and the biggest bump for Bird was he was an insane scorer, and incredible in the clutch. If Magic played on the Celtics of those years they would have been very good but pack the paint and they would be very beatable. You put Bird with Kareem, Worthy and the Lakers they would have been maybe the best team of all time. All in Steph imo is just a more complete player than Magic and he creates more problems for a defense. I'd take Steph all day. Magic was a little like Draymond in that on another team he doesn't work as well.
