Warriors vs Nuggets | GM-52 |

Lol I vote for "King Koopa" to be his official nickname... let's make it happen

Neal X

yea also concerning Wiseman, he should be used as a SF, a Michael Porter Jr, not a center, its not happening, and i though GS was light years ahead, while treating Wiseman as a traditional big

Naji Zouhari

Last year's success is hurting us so much. We won the whole thing, and we didn't make any trades so now, I guess, they think they can do the same thing and I genuinely think talent-wise we can in theory, but in practice not so much. Steph played his best playoff performance which he should show again and while it's possbile he is not going to play any better than 30mpg on crazy efficiency so there's that, Draymond is the same, but less athletic and older, but maybe he can switch to his beast mode in the playoff and here's the main question that we have can Wiggs show up as he did last year? He was a defensive menace and monster on rebounds and was constantly displaying his superior athleticism dunking on Luka's and Clark's heads and all that while being an efficient second/third scorer on offence, that was a peak of Andrew Wiggins, I mean, I am not sure he can repeat that. Klay was kind of average so prob he's gonna perform the same if not better, but it's Klay, you never know he can shoot 1-11 or drop 50 pieces. Poole is the same as Klay but terrible at defence. We lost GP2 and Porter while obtaining Donte and Kuminga to some extent since he didn't really play last play-off. So can they bring the same impact? In theory, yes, but will they? It's a big question mark, and we also add drama to our struggles with other teams being better than they were, so our chances don't look good at all. I mean, at its best this team can beat anybody, but it's not likely that they can reach that level, unfortunately, unless Wiggs, Steph and Klay will play at their absolute best. Dray is doing fine to my eye, Looney is as good as always and man hope Kerr will use Kuminga better, we need him, without his impact we are not winning it. We're just too small and Wiggs being like he is rn we don't even have any athletic player at all except Kuminga. If they could use Wise, but it's a dream at this point.

Ilfat

I'm even surprised how Kuminga is enchanting his game so much in this environment because clearly, Kerr isn't helping him and not letting him fulfil his true potential yet. How we handle Wiseman's situation is just terrible. I mean, they continue to say that "Oh, yeah, he's a great kid, a great talent and bla bla", but they why you don't use him. Trade him then, don't ruin a guy's career by using him wrong and not letting him any developing time. I don't think we can help Mood and Wise here so it's better to trade them now and don't waste their precious time when they can develop skills they need further in their career. If they think that JMJ is better than Wise at this point of the season, then it's over for him in the Warriors.

Ilfat

Thanks Alch 🙏🏻🔥

Ryan Mitchell

After this game; i am now convinced that we can't win a chip this year, and the sad thing is, its not because of the people we have, its all mentality issue, Dray being passive, Poole didn't get the guidance he needed from him, Wiseman trained as a traditional big "which he clearly isn't", instead of an actual perimeter defender "which he is really good at", Klay never adjusting and studying the game, instead just forcing things in a mental trap against himself, making the young once feel disrespected... this is a real mess.

Naji Zouhari

The issue I saw with how Wiseman was presenting bad targets was when Alch showed his post ups. It's the same problem highschool/middleschool bigs have. They make it look like they're posted, but don't make enough contact to ensure that they will catch the ball when the post entry pass is made. I'm guessing these guys see that issue in practice, and it doesn't provide them with much confidence to throw it in there during a game. He's so big though that he needs to just have his hand out as a target and they need to throw it to that hand so he can face up on the catch. There inlies the hands issue though.

Pelvis

Wow never realised the problem with wise till you pointed it out ,cause i still remember when we drafted him he would be open a lot but they wouldnt pass to him.So it does make sense on passing angles and all that but also were some that were wide open looks for him an they would miss him

Slik

I’m surprised you haven’t been reaming Wiggins, I agree on the breakdown but I thought you would be going in on Wiggins about now, the man is unplayable I mean missing layups? Missing easy dunks in OT vs Min. He’s been trash lately beyond so, JK has legit outplayed him. We need our wings to score especially with no Klay and Wiggs provided nothing all game was just a person on the court no impact whatsoever. Wiseman shouldn’t get another DNP all season, he needs reps and he’s more impactful than JMG even when he messes up. Kerr is embarrassing himself not playing the kid. Damn the politics he’s sabotaging the season and this teams potential by not playing him. Harsh reality is, we may not make play in, and with Steph on the team that’s inexcusable and unacceptable.

Edward Green

Can’t trade Poole

Edward Green

Bingo!! U win comment of the day, warriors fans want to take out they frustration on wise when he was a bright spot.....sadly Idk if Kerr sees it that way.....will wise get minutes or we going back to jmg and lamb. I thought the game was lost when we brought jmg in instead of wise, sparking the 16 to 0 run

k fish

U really think Kerr will ever tell his team to throw the ball to young wise in the post? Let's be real, also I'm not trading Wiseman.....even though it would be good for him to get away from steve. If I'm lacob I'm saying play Wiseman and make it work or pack you're bags....steve has honestly sabatoged this whole season because of his ego

k fish

Nah in some occasion yes they were cheating over to discourage the pass but other he was wide open and they had the chances to give him the ball.....it's not the other players choice to decide if Wiseman is giving them an encouraging look especially when instead we getting turnovers and ill advised jacked 3s. I don't think alot of our fans watch nba games. It's rare for a big like wise to sprint the floor everytime and creates mismatches. You have to reward him even if u think it's risky especially when the game over

k fish

Lol risky? Ty Jerome dropped the ball out of bounds and takes terrible shots at times, far from an adult in the room, the offense would be better with him on the bench and playing thru wise and jk

k fish

Did it come off as criticism? I agree it’s a healthy change. I brought it up for context to passing to Wiseman

Athletic Alchemy

I don’t agree with your criticism of Jerome for not making the risky pass. The Warriors have enough turnover machines as it is; his job is to be the adult in the room, not turn the ball over.

Jerry Heverly

It seems to be the wake-up call we need for Chef for Kerr and for the FO. The team now knows we are no match for Denver now. Either give up or step up.

Natto Santo

This team needs a shake-up. The vets are unmotivated, the youth aren't getting minutes (outside of Poole and a little bit of JK). The other teams have caught up to the Warriors and now we're the ones behind. We have too many non-scoring players and are happy with the turnovers. It sucks that we're going to waste our only season with Donte. If Curry, Klay and Dray want to keep the band together, they sure aren't playing like it.

Captain Rossco

Jordan Poole for Jonathon Isaac?

Andrew Coleman

the nuggets rn are what the warriors should have been if bogut or mcgee or kd never left

Fuq yu

the ironically part was too funny watched it like 10 times!

Dial T for Tech

Right! No one wants to beat up on this kid anymore. This looks isn’t some fraudulent star *cough Harden…. Where it’s fun to kick him when he’s down

Athletic Alchemy

Look, I also sympathize with Wiseman -- I want to trade him as much for his sake as ours.

Neal X

That’s some good insight 🙏🏽 I will look more for some of his nuanced impact and try to highlight that. The angle’s absolutely matter! Especially with his hands and coordination. They are not tossing it to Amare or KG in there.

Athletic Alchemy

You do great work Alch. With that said, I think you missed some great things about what we saw from Wiseman. He played 16 mins and had the highest +/- and the only positive +/- on the team. What I noticed was how he impacted the spacing on the defensive and offensive end. On offense the bigs stayed home because of fear of the lob and this forces defenders to fight through picks instead of switching. This is huge because the Warriors have done nothing to counter all of the defensive switching they are seeing and this is the reason that they go into iso mode. On defense, the nuggets had to think twice about driving and they would kick it out more, this meant that we weren't accumulating fouls as quickly and forcing them deeper into their shot clock....And as far as the angles he was taking, his angles didn't matter because he had smaller opponents on him. The ball just needed to be thrown up just Donte did in that one play. I seriously hope they see the value in him finishing +7 in a loss while everyone else on the team was -.

Derwin Gaston

I think the guards and Wiseman thing is the product of not being used to a our 5 calling for the ball in the paint. We just don't do that and never have. I would not be surprised if Kerr mentions this and tells the guys if James is in there, look for him in the post, particularly in mismatches. It is true that Wise tends to run in a straight line to the rim instead of using angles. Good catch. Now you know I am team Wiseman, but Larry Krueger posed an interesting trade suggestion: Wiseman and Moody for Nerlens Noel and Saddiq Bey. Not sure I can see Det doing that, but that would revamp our bench pretty quick. Back up center and an athletic wing to play behind Wiggs. What do you think?

Eddie757

Agreed, so fun to watch this transformation, adding his attitude and body language you refer to. I agree w those saying leave him in for heavier minutes, especially when he’s cooking while others (Wiggs) struggle. Wiggs will get his consistency back, but let this future star cook!

Chip Tingle

I was rooting for the guards to pass to Wiseman more often as well. But I actually was seeing the same thing alch was talking about when Wiseman checked in the second time... That he wasn't seeming to provide passers the best Target, where the guards could visualize how the bucket was going to go down. He's fighting and backing up, but he's not inspiring confidence of what will happen after receiving a pass. I blame the coaching. I think it's kind of like how the great tight ends know how to present themselves to be a safe target for the quarterback. I also thought a similar thing as he was positioning himself for rebounds. At the end, after not getting the feed, he maybe gave up and wandered out (giving up rebounding position). Still can learn from Looney and Draymond on how to fight/position for rebounds.

creuset

I can’t get over Kuminga’s growth. He seems to have non-teachable (both physical and mental) that you could ask for in a player. We knew about the physical gifts, but his doggedness, coachability, feel, poise. Don’t want to get carried away, but he might end up being a one-man second timeline.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Isn’t it really just about Wiggins at this point? This team has so few wings that they need Klay, Wiggins and JK to be playing well. They were trash when they had 1 of 3 (pre-December) and they’ve been mid since they’ve had 2 of 3 (post-December). The roster’s left them no flex at that position.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Great breakdown

joss gitlin

Seen that too, seem like steve didn't want to win if that meant kuminga leading the charge lol

k fish

Good breakdown as always but come on alc....now we trying to nitpick the ways Wiseman is open? Truth is I doubt Kerr even practice post entries or infacf, I doubt he is even encouraging it. Wiseman showed he shouldn't be getting dnps, whether that means no lamb or jmg, he impacts winning more then both. He brings an element the team just doesn't have and puts pressure on the other team. With more reps I'm sure he will present the angles u like, but ty Jerome just doesn't have good vision and is low key shoot first

k fish

A certain point in the 4th quarter I just stopped watching I couldn't take it anymore.

Strong Foru

This game honestly had me frustrated as hell. I think this was the boiling point for me on this team. There's no way we're winning the chip this year. The issues seem too widespread and systemic. We wanna build the young guys but we don't, the vets are keeping us afloat but they're making just as bad of mistakes as the young guys, and Wiseman can't even see the court(other than tonight). I was all for maybe moving Wiseman, but after tonight I think there is no point. He played absolutely fine tonight. Was he perfect, no, but he still shows plenty of potential. We still need to remember that he has barely played basketball, and yet he adds as much to this team as Mychal if not more. If Steph, Klay, Draymond, Wiggs, and Poole are going to dick around on the court all night with no repercussions from Steve, then they just need to give Wise 20 minutes each night, let Draymond walk in FA, and start to see the light on the other side of this Dynasty tunnel. (Unless we wanna trade poole and someone for KD now that Kyrie wants out LOL). Anyways, I don't have fun watching these guys anymore, there's nothing to be excited about. Kerr's defensive schemes make me scratch my head just as bad as the next guy, and obviously change isn't something he's willing to look into. I feel like they need an adult in the room... Get Shaun Livingston suited back up!

Pelvis

Insecure Russian site? Nah

Chip Tingle

Ya, without a microscopic look, he’s taken out a slight hitch in his motion and it just feels a beat faster in a good way. Your guess on his hands and grip seems likely, too. Can Simmons ever do the same? Nah…but would change his whole life!

Chip Tingle

definitely check out 720.ru you can download full games from there in good quality

Ezra Abbey

and by blow it up, you mean shop Steph at the deadline?

Stevie Ray

When I would look at his FT and closer angles of his release he would have a weird lil wobble at times at the top of his release, might be right. More compact...

Athletic Alchemy

it does seem a bit passive aggressive possibly him and Myers both want the trade and Joe has vetoed any of the rrooks being moved. there probably was a trade in the offseason available that now is looking even worse that we didnt take it.

Stevie Ray

not sure how I allowed this news to surprise me...

Stevie Ray

Continued gratitude, Alch. JK 3ball motion looks more compact, efficient, slightly faster. Another good sign among many. D???? TO’s??? Wiggs back in his shell? Rooting for Wise, too. Productive minutes, especially for first game in a month.

Chip Tingle

Could this be due to the loss of Mike Brown?

Neotokyo

I hear you! Maybe they need to just commit to the youth. The IG shit really irks me. It selfish BS for his pod imo.. his body is done

Athletic Alchemy

Wiggins can't be traded because of the Simmons thing.

Omer Ali

I still ask, does this Warriors team, have the feel of a Champion? Does Wiseman still not give off amateur vibes? Does Steve really know how to coach "basketball" or was he just good with a Curry-centric run and chuck team? Why are the Kings so much better with Mike Brown and why are the Warriors worse without him? If I was head cheese, I'd blow this team up. Andrew is reverting to his mean. Kerr's lackadaisical style with Curry (and Klay) is suspect. And why does a minimum salaried player, Ty, the most dependable player on offense? Sorry, these guys arent fun to watch mostly. The rotting hubris of Lacob is showing thru the system now. Why does Alc seem to know more than the high paid "pros", coaches/players on this team? I see comments here about this player or that coaching thing, but this seems much more systemic than this or that player. I mean why the hell is Iggy ( I love Iggs, ) still taking up a spot. There are just so many problems of slow rot on this team, in the management, with the coaching, with the player choices. Still, all these seasons and no real big, at least as a back up?

Tyler Durden

I was just in the trade machine... Wigs, Wise and Kuminga works. Not saying you do it but!

Athletic Alchemy

where Kd going? hmmm

james moore

ahh ok.. for some reason I felt like he was Hispanic

Athletic Alchemy

last night I felt like that whole 4th was garbage time really.. but yeah man, it almost feels like Steve is on some passive aggressive spite shit

Athletic Alchemy

Alch don't you feel like the coaching and rotations have been extra sloppy this year.Kuminga didnt come back in until the 3-minute mark of the 4th. But having ty jerome and moody out there instead of poole and kuming in the crutch. Was head-scratching. The 5 man substitutions we did to start the year.

GC

Ty’s daddy is half Black. Andre and ET interviewed him a few weeks ago.

Imani

if he is out that long you I think you pack it in and go young regardless the initial record

Athletic Alchemy

that be wild af

Athletic Alchemy

If draymond is to miss 6-8 weeks, here’s 2 scenarios.. If warriors can go 4-0 in the next games then I guess we just have to play the rest of the season out but if we go 2-2 or worse… trade Wiseman or play him 20+ minutes a game to increase his trade value for the offseason.. he was actually 1 of 2 players with a positive +/- because I think teams can see that he’s a talented scorer and try to take him out of rhythm but almost a non factor or other aspects.. maybe Wiseman can get some minutes and relax more in game kinda like kuminga or he’ll show us he needs alot more development on a bad team

Offtopic K

I remember Draymond clarified in a podcast with Steph that he was joking

Ismail Dahir

tell you one thing.. Dallas would be out they Cod damn mind!

Athletic Alchemy

Draymond's calf tightness right around the time LeBron is scheduled to pass Kareem in a couple days is even spookier lmao jp. But he did say he would miss a game to go watch his "homie" pass Kareem

Ballin Forever

Should’ve put looney and Wiseman in together more.. Denver really didn’t kill us from 3 it was the 2 big man lineup what forced warriors to oversell Jokic.. his season high is 34 this year so wouldn’t say Jokic would try to score 50 to beat us

Offtopic K

wait I just peeped my twitter feed..LMAO! WTF

Athletic Alchemy

first

Alan Phan

where's Kyrie going?
