Alch thanks for being you and helping me through the last week with no basketball. I am watching all the breakdowns and podcasts to get my basketball fix. I wish there were about 10 of you and we could get a daily show with these breakdowns with the fanbases that would watch, but you are 1 of 1. Hilarious, relevant, and knowledgeable. A triple threat.

Anthony Berry

That Barney joke lmaooo

David Katz

Like curry said recently in an interview if all the warriors are healthy they still have a chance.

Strong Foru

just dawned that is kerr drafting for the g league? rollins? mm? that lacrosse dude if he still relevant? pbj been in development the entire season

Fuq yu

tbh this year against any team we always had a 50/50 chance to win or lose, its really a coin flip for this team rn

Kevin Chan

The crazy thing is they were begging him to come back. Even then, it was kinda disrespectful how long he made them wait before confirming he’d be back.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

The good news is that this year there’s almost no correlation between a team’s record and whether we lose to them lol

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

The Warriors have a lot of games remaining against opponents who are currently above them in the standings. I did a quick analysis of our remaining schedule: -12 games against Western opponents currently above us in the standings -2 games against top of the East (Philly & Milwawkee) -7 games against teams with similar records (2x LAL, 2x POR, 2x OKC, ATL) -3 games against teams with losing records (2x HOU, SAS) In essence, its not going to be an easy road to defend the title. If we find ourselves in any sort of losing streak before Steph gets back, we are essentially out of the playoff race and we may have to consider sitting Steph for the rest of the season.

Jimmy Ji

There is so much nuance.. some guys the ball always seems to find them. But yeah I saw him getting the same treatment we gave him last night. He is in the wrong era. 20 yr ago he would have gotten the touches to develop into a weapon, not sure that will happen in 2023 regardless the team

Athletic Alchemy

Alc, I noticed Pistons Twitter complaining about their point guards refusing to give Wise the ball in the post. Supports your observation that his positioning was off in ways his teammates could see, but most fans couldn’t.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Thinking Basketball did a video on the death of the triple threat stance, I know its something you highlighted for JP's growth. Do you think this is something we'll see for a lot of guards in the future?

Jacob L

Oh man, we need to pull out all the stops to get Kevin Love

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Loo said after the punch "he needs to earn our trust back". I wonder where they stand on that now.

godeau

You can honestly make the argument Jordan Poole is the worst defender in the league. I feel like with Dray punching Poole, he's now lost the ability to rip him a new one on his defensive issues.

Omer Ali

A road game against a good opponent; back to back; with three key players injured. I don’t rate this loss as anything but the expected result. There is no money for a big. Draymond should be re-signed, but that means some other key player must be cut or traded. The salary cap next year only goes up 11 million(to 134 million). The Warriors are already at 190 million with JP scheduled to add another 25 million next season. If Draymond gets 40 mil that adds another 15 million. And since the Warriors are multiple years in the penalty the costs of these contracts will be exponential.  For now cut Iggy and sign the two two-way players. Maybe, if Steph comes back soon after the All Star Break & GP2 recovers sooner than expected, they can make the playoffs.  Next year should be the focus now.

Jerry Heverly

100%. And injuries handed the keys to those dudes. I still remember the game last season when Kerr sat out everyone in Toronto. Bruh ...

godeau

Yeah we gave up after one bad rotation.. Why do you think Steve decided to go with an all bench lineup instead of mixing some of the starters minutes more

Offtopic K

As frustrating as last night was, especially on D, going in without Steph/Wiggs/GPII/Andre’s roster spot made for long odds on a deep, hungry team in their gym. D effort and energy is contagious, both positive and negative. Exactly why we re-signed GPII, whenever he gets back. He routinely changed the energy of most every game he entered off the bench. I’ll never forget young bench Dray barking at David Lee for poor defense. Is he barking post-punch? Not that I see. Especially w the most significant D liability, JP! But most everyone was getting beat last night. Long odds for a deep playoff run this year, but still not impossible to dial up weak spots if key guys return healthy. Bigggg if!

Chip Tingle

I don’t know man, I hear you in theory - but I feel the bench has been largely doing their job. It’s the guys from last year who’ve been underwhelming - most specifically Wiggins. I think if he’d only taken a week to get right post injury, this whole season would’ve been very different.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

For sure Mike Brown is a major loss for us this year, but I think everyone has downplayed the players we gave up in the off season. However much you want to bad mouth D. Lee, that guy understood the system, played hard every time he was on the floor and JTA was nothing but energy. Then the big three of Belly, Otto and GPII. That's 5 solid players who understood both our offense and how to bring it on defense. Between those 5 players, that's 88 minutes per game lost to ideal Warriors players. Who replaced them? Two two-way guys, JK, JG, and DD. Until February JG was a complete waste, January for JK, and DD was useless till about December. So basically for most of the season it's been the two-way dudes filling in for those 5 guys. I really don't see what the staff could have done with this roster.

Tio

I assumed Myers was all in on the Wiseman move, but he sounded salty as hell in that interview. The “7ft or 8ft” part implies real frustration. Bad vibes.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

🫠rip kerrygold then it confirms jku was a mike brown choice. kerr revolutionized the game ten years ago and is still stuck believing the league did not adjust. i don’t count the two cups with durant for the long vision of small ball. being champs last year because we had a bigger bench, downsizing and not keeping up with the times and now what Myers said. kerrygold might be moving with arrogance. any size trades would’ve confirmed his failure. any buyouts would also signal that suspicion. unfortunately the window is closing. if we got the 8th seed we still have the same issues. with or without curry we still trying the same formula and it’s not favorable.

Fuq yu

🤦‍♂️

Fuq yu

Saw the Bob Myers interview about the buyout market this year. It was basically like, we have to look at a big that Steve will actually play. That means they're not getting anyone then. Because Nerlens Noel just got picked up. And they won't get Boogie. That also means its time to move on from Steve in the offseason. No way you can contend with only Looney being your biggest big at 6'9 and it's not like he's a Charles Barkley or anything like that. Kenny Atkinson has to go, too. And for the nth time, Iggy is wasting a spot! Time to hang it up dude!

Lyle Mabalot

yessir, because him and wiseman make similar salaries, it could've been a straight swap. I just can't with Warriors FO right now

Lyle Mabalot

Wasnt really going to comment, but still attached to this team, still care and still a bit pissed at how they are playing, particularly defense. Is it Brown leaving? Is it the "culture"? Is it the players? I've been around long enough to see, to know that a tenacious D is what will give you a chance to win a championship. Been there for Magic Lakers, Jordan, Bad Boys, the Ben Wallace Pistions. This Warriors team aint that .. We are weak. Sell Poole for someone who cares. Light a fire under Wiggins butt-hole, see how he responds. At least Lamb and Ty seem to care. ... and teach Kuminga some patience at the basket. Pull a "Clockwork Orange", tape his eyes open and make him imbibe some Luka-ness.

Tyler Durden

You hear what myers said about not going after bigs cause Kerr won’t play them. Nasty stuff

CNeal213

Wait, we could have picked up Plumlee? Wtf didn’t we?

everest999

The league is unbearably soft now and the Warriors aren't taking advantage. Dame abuses the refs every game.

A m a r Singg

Wasn't too upset with this one. Clippers just have way too many good vets and talent up an down the roster. Poole giveth and taketh away every game. Loved seeing Ty Jerome ball out again though, I hope they keep him over Lamb at this point.

A m a r Singg

I see so many of these high FT disparity games and see a common theme. GS doesn't have many players adept at drawing fouls (flopping). When these guys are practicing, how often are they game planning for the Norman Powell's of the league initiating minimal contact and flailing? Kuminga is a victim of this constantly, and Poole tries and fails to mimmick it way too often in crunch time. Also wondering if that affects their overall aggression defensively. They can't seem to find a mid-season version of intensity, it's a light switch of playoff mode or cruise control. Lacking a rim protector as a deterrent also keeps them in scramble mode.

Brandon A

Either way, this decision will not and should not impact the outcome of the season. It's JP, Loo and Wigs who need to grind it through. JP, 23yo 30.7min/g; Wigs, 27yo 32.2 min/g; Loo, 26 yo (!) 23.3 min/g. C'mon Steve

godeau

nah the Iggy shit is crazy at this point

Athletic Alchemy

When you said "we're missing our best two defenders" I literally thought you meant Wigs & Steph Lol I guess I haven't waken up from last year's post season Steph yet

godeau

Ty over Lamb, 100%. His hustle and energy will be important, especially if GP2 isn't healthy for a while and doesn't play as well because of his injury. They just NEED to pick up the best big possible in the buyout.

OhSomeABeanLoadin

Yeah for me it wasn’t the L, it was how..

Athletic Alchemy

I wasnt too worried after last night.. but I just kept thinking about WHAT THE HELL IS IGGY DOING ON THIS ROSTER lmao. I love what he has done for this franchise but he is literally taking up space. We not good enough to be wasting an entire roster spot for moral support lol. Last thing.. I love GP2... but based on the size of these teams... I dont see how we beat a fully health Clips or Nuggets with all of their size and versatility

Ballin Forever

I’m actually surprised you took this game so negatively.. you said it at the end.. we’re missing our 2 best players and playing against a team with new acquisitions that want to show out.. if poole wants to get to that perennial all star level.. he has to be more of an option on defense but I think we have to give him some more time.. I get the money but still all in all he’s only a 5th year player given so many different roles on this team every night

Offtopic K

We don’t get plumblee and no portel. What FO is thinking?

Natto Santo

Up till the end of the third I was really proud of the warriors for staying in the game… then their bench just proved that they were better than ours but I think once playoffs come and everyone gets back in their roles we should win in 6 healthy
