exactly, he is cornered into it, after all these stupid losses.

godeau

Welp... looks like the other shoe dropped. I've honestly been expecting Steph to get injured, since it's been too good to be true so far that he hasn't been hurt this season.

Neal X

Wonderful. Another Kerr loss. Steph is completely gassed and sprained now. Foolish to even play with the idea Dubs can run out of the 5-10 group to secure a non play in spot. It’s complete coin toss and even they manage to get in playoff, then what? Kerr couldn’t even coach this loaded team to win the games they should win in regular season, there’s no title hope. Thank you Steve. You’re the fucking best.

godeau

What a classic Kerr brain dead 3rd quarter! I know ppl is gonna say the reason Dubs are only behind 10 is because Chris Paul run a couple of successful pnr w TJD. True. But this is not the story: the starting 5 are obviously gassed, so call a fucking TO, and put on Moses and GP2 to replace Podz and Wigs. Then, Podz can lead the second unit with Wigs, TDJ, and Klay. And as soon as you see Klay is going crazy, taking all the stupid shots, you call another TO! Sub him out if necessary cuz Klay is not playing defense, and taking all the bad shots! As for Chris Paul, there is only one guy who can run a pnr in Dubs and he wears #30. When Chris Paul is in, the ball stops moving so he can do his dribble shit. He does not create for his teammates and as long as the opponents figures out his pnr, which is really easy, switch or just go under, the offense is fucked and Klay goes Berserk, and you don't run back and fastbreak layups all day long.

godeau

Last piece I want to see is Gui, since he's also in the category of "plays bigger than he is" that we need.

Neal X

The Bucks are big -- but slow (especially now, like Alch broke down). Size has its advantages but also its disadvantages.

Neal X

I think the simple answer is neither extreme -- Kerr has strengths and weaknesses, like any man. We've seen both.

Neal X

Hey Alch back at the Patreon. I thought this season is over with Kerr shitting all over the place so I didn't bother to join, but now Dubs is at a very delicate place again thanks to the youngsters and I need the members help on a question: why on earth is Chris Paul still playing more mins than Moses, Wigs and sometimes JK? Why on earth? I need help guys, please. I'm tortured by this mofo called Kerr and his absolute obsession with playing Chris fucking Paul.

godeau

JK has said that he benefitted from Kerr’s rotations and Kerr has implied he could have given the kids more time earlier. So who knows? All we know for sure is that they’re both class acts.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

I think the issue is it seemed he was forced into this. It wasn’t some long play. But either way we are here 🙌🏽

Athletic Alchemy

Funny how when we look at Kerr’s track record this season, he’s basically gotten flamed for not making dramatic changes fast enough. Now he’s made all those adjustments: benched Klay, reduced Looney’s minutes, featured Kuminga, TJD and let the young guys carry. But because of the internet’s prisoner-of-the-moment blinders you’d think that Kerr was the exact opposite of dynamic and flexible. Turns out that in the real world there are inherent constraints to making radical changes overnight, and indeed Kerr was wise to take his time.

Julian Mihdi

Not until his 5th year. He's gonna be the cheapest contract in the league at age 28

Tom L

best reffed game of the season

bob star

I love Kerr as a human being, but let's be real, we were flirting with not even making the playoffs at all (and we're not out of the woods). He does have the positive attributes you mention, but it definitely feels like he's been slow to catch on to what this team needed in terms of rotations this season. If Draymond, CP, and GP2 don't have to sit out and Wiggins wasn't slumping hard, does Kerr even discover Podz this season? If Kuminga doesn't complain to the media, does he go on his rapid rise? Sorry, but give Kerr his flowers, but let him take his lumps as well.

Neal X

He knew he wasnt bouta catch tht shi

SLiK

i have to give kerr credit ngl. one of the reasons he's struggled making decisions was cuz of klay. to manage personalities isn't a simple job but with all that being said, it's better late than never

ChizzyTheKid

There was a play near the end of garbage time where Thanasis was pointing up on a fast break asking for a highly ambitious/suspect lob. I was very disappointed that his teammate didn’t take him up on that shit

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Shi i was hopin you put giannis brother gettin dropped by gui at the end 🤣🤣

SLiK

Random observation: I don’t agree with the Kerr hate necessarily, but I find it weird that the “trust Kerr” crowd feel that JK and Moody playing well proves that the people criticizing Kerr for the DNPs were wrong all along… Both the Kerr sucks and Kerr is great crowd from two months ago feel vindicated. Really funny to me.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Kerr has said multiple times over the years that he likes to give ample opportunity to vets to get out of their funk/decline. Yes, the atrocious Dooney lineup cost the Dubs some games; obviously Trayce should have been out there in a vacuum. But Kerr's also building relationships, maintaining culture, and always trying to make Frisco more attractive to vets. These aren't just inanimate chess pieces you're sliding around a board. They're people. So when Kerr lets the Dooney line up get fucking torched over and over again, or when he lets a withering Klay Thompson get backdoor cut and chuck up awful three after awful three, costing the team games, he's also showing his loyalty and is giving them a real chance. And when they get torched over and over, they are basically forcing their *own* hand: they were given a real shot, sucked ass, and Kerr gets the best of both worlds. He eventually gets to put the best lineup out there while also maintaining loyalty. But players notice the loyalty across the league. Players talk. Agents talk. Everyone always talks about "Dubs culture" and how nice it is. Well this is a part of it. You can't throw the baby out with the bathwater, Kerr giving vets long chances is inextricable from the "culture" everyone loves. (Not to mention Kerr really does seem like a humanist, I don't think he does this shit manipulatively, he really cares about these guys)

Major Powers

Definitely. I see no reason why basically every game from now on doesn't have rotations and usage that look something like this. This game needs to be the blueprint going forward, for both the coaches and the players. Here's hoping.

Neal X

Everyone thinks Kerr loves guards, he's just been plotting his 3 center lineup this whole time.

Major Powers

I love these breakdowns so much when I don't get a chance to watch the game. Easily the best such pieces of content out there.

Alasdair Macdonald

God DAYUM but that Trayce double block still has me hyped up. Kerr said after the game "we need to get him more minutes so he's ready for the playoffs" . Well, better late than never Steve!

Neal X

Last night was bliss from a fan/product perspective. The NBA really stood on *bidness* with the no foul calls and letting them play, and Kerr really stood on bidness when it came to winning warriors basketball, what we've been waiting for. Smart rotations, strong defensive planning, and immediate adjustments when Steph and Draymond were shitting the bed in the early 3rd. Love your point about Draymond finally feeling like he has some help with athleticism around him. and "you knew he was finna cry" about Bob is hilarious 🤣

yan't get right

awesome stuff. bucks Defense is kinda awful. Never seen steph so wide open. had to rewind to see if my eyes were playin w me

Mikey H

With the combination of most games remaining and an easier schedule ahead, I think the priority would be to have the young guys get as much run as possible heading into the postseason. This will not only provide more rest for the vets like Draymond, CP3, Steph and Klay, it will also better prepare us for a deep playoff run. For JK, I'd love for him to continue to develop his ball handling and screen setting this offseason. Ideally moving forward, JK's going to have to replace Draymond's role in the offense because of his unlimited potential playing alongside Steph. It also makes sense to eventually slide TJD into the starting lineup to take over Draymond's role on defense. Imagine the defensive versatility of a TJD, Kuminga, Wiggins, Moody and Steph lineup, I'd love for Kerr to try this out in the near future.

Jimmy Ji

More impressive than getting off to a good start (which we've done plenty this year), was adjusting when the other team went on a run instead of banging our heads against the wall and responding with a run of our own. 9 points in the 4th for the Bucks was nuts

Luke Zhang

Replayed this 3 times just to see the defense again. They look unbreakable out there. Too bad the dubs don’t have any nuggets matchups left, would’ve loved to see this rotation go at them.

Swole Mole

Sorry, but Kerr deserves no credit for doing things that we've been screaming at him to do for months. It took a Draymond benching + a JK podium call out on Kerr's terrible rotations for Kerr to finally see what Kuminga was. Kerr kept putting Looney and Saric out there when TJD had this all along. TJD didn't learn these skills by being DNP'd. This was already in him. And don't get me started on how Kerr keeps forgetting that Moody is on this squad.

Thomas Ogas

Trayce getting paid

Daniel Fries

Dario is out of the rotation for good, barring any injuries

Valantur

Kuminga had a little extra resilience today. He knows what the comparisons out the draft was and rose to the challenge

Offtopic K

The nfl has gone away from feature backs in favor of a running back by committee approach. Have we stumbled into a pseudo center by committee approach with our long, high motor young guns?

Tyler

We've been on Kerr's ass all season, so lets acknowledge the coaching when we should. Last night Kerr did a heck of a job, including: - Sitting Saric - Reeling in Klay and Wiggins' usage - Adjusting the defensive scheme on Portis, when he got hot - Not pulling TJD even if he did make a couple of rookie mistakes/plays in crunch time (not catching a pass then fouling a 3-pointer for example) - Helping the team bounce back from a humiliating loss in Boston Lets give Kerr his flowers for once.

Breuer

Love this game we are starting to become a well rounded team with tons of firepower

martin pattison

TJD looks like he FEASTS on the energy of the crowd

Shea Johnson

Most excited I’ve been this year bc The Athletic guys mentioned moody and TJD are firmly ahead of Dario and Loon now. Took a while but we’re finally here with no liabilities in the rotation. With JK, Wiggins, and now Moody and TJD as regular rotation guys, we actually looked… athletic? Like we can def hang athletically in the West with this rotation. Refreshing to see the other team look old and slow for once.

Luke Zhang

So appreciate the way you narrate the ebb and flow of the game. The tense moments in the third - the way the TJD minutes blew it open. How Moody is starting to find his footing. Sure feels like Wiggins is expendable now. What a bounce back after getting smooshed by the Cs!

Gary

Yep. Kerr has his way and it's always worked, so I never got the hate. We're in the sideline, but he's with these guys daily. Why question him? What does he have to do to prove himself?

Carla Davis

Just when you think Kerr gotta be crazy … he might be crazy as a fox. Inception with Klay, forcing JK to be a basketball player first and and a athlete second - Mo Harkless to Kawhai, and most of all elevating Trayce with the sole purpose of getting him ready for the playoffs… at the expense of Saric ass splinters.. maybe he Miagii’d us all. Team pulling in one direction

Jello Smooth

This unit is what we all been saying the whole season

weng

The win was so impressive I had a nightmare about Moody being a DNP against the bulls

Sarcasm 360

W timing as per usual, Unc
