I believe it's selfish that Kerr insists on running the small ball system. How many active guards do we have listed under 6'5"? Seven.
We could have gotten a young, versatile big this past off season through a trade or FA. Instead we got Dario. Don't get me wrong, I love me some TJD, but Kerr doesn't like playing bigs and no one seems to point this out.

Distribution of rotation minutes by coaches is analogous to budgeting money. Everyone has a different operation and will criticize the way others operate.
Fans are so quick to complain about the rotation not realizing there's no arrangement that would dramatically change the outcome. Budget changes are likely in the off-season, but fans will continue to count others money and complain no matter what. Continue to do what you do best ✌🏿

Everybody on the Moody bandwagon is just pretending that we didn't start winning one Podz replaced Klay in the starting lineup and consistently puts up the highest or 2nd highest +/- on the team.
I really want Moody to succeed, too, but a lot of people are talking about it like the purpose of the season is to develop Mood. It's not.

He's still playing great D, he can at least stay in front of guys, he has the most lateral quickness of anyone on the roster by a ways. He tends to get his hand caught in the cookie jar in terms of fouls a bit.

All the Warriors' podcasts locked Mood into a minimum of 12-15 mins a game as of 10 days ago, only to get the DNP on National television.
Podz is cool, Mood at the 2 has a higher ceiling - and this inability to see the forest for the trees is gonna hurt long-term for this roster next year when it matters more.

I get what these guys do at their best, but this is a 10th seed team and not by mistake, unless I see these compositions and components play complete high level basketball I’m not buying into shutting off the search for answers to the issues that make this a 10th seed team.

Where did you hear Steph say he wasn't going to be 100% the rest of the season? Of course it can still take some time, but I hope the ankle isn't going to hold him back or cause any more problems and he can play free like always. Kudos on that commentary in the end.. about Steph milking the clock and drawing 2 defenders, great observation and of course well executed.

CP3 has way above average passing and facilitation, and he also has the ability to create his own shots, which we've seen in spades since he got back. Moody doesn't really show an offensive "bag" beyond just spot-up shooting, he can't really create. I commented a while back that if he had like, a really nice step-back 3 or even just a good fadeaway 2, he would be a more attractive offensive piece. Of course, he has good hands on defense and is figuring out how to get the most out of his reach; if Klay or Wiggs is having a really off night, he can step in for either of them. I think it's more important for us to really try and revv up Andrew for the last couple of games here, I think 2-way Wiggs is the biggest missing ingredient right now, not Moody.

I still don’t buy it from Kerr’s side, he still finds all the time in the world for his 3 guard lineups that allow runs and defensive mismatches, but somehow I still have yet to see a full defensive commitment from this team

2024-03-17 22:18:27 +0000 UTC
We've got too many guards for sure, but Podz rebounds, boxes out, gets 50/50 balls, draws charges, knows the offense, provides vocal leadership, all already as a rookie. Is there a little favoritism from Kerr? Probably. But Moody got some minutes while CP3 and Wiggs was out, and he was pretty good. I just don't think pretty good means he gets play time over the other 3 guys, especially not CP3 and GP2 simply because yeah, they're vets with a proven track record. If someone goes down again, Moody will see the floor, but I just don't think we're seeing more than that at this point, knowing Kerr. I guess more than anything I'm just done complaining about it, it's near the post-season so things are pretty much getting to be set now, we know how things are going to fall. I'm just happy TJD finally broke the seal, and Loon and Dario are still being sat.

For the best performance of each players, JK 36, Chef 33, Klay and Green is around 28, CP3 around 15, GP2 15.
ThenTJD-25.Wiggins-25, Pod-25.
Moody should be about to get 10.

I just don’t buy it, through just this one season we’ve seen him shoot the ball pretty well for stretches while getting very inconsistent minutes, I mean he’s 21 and you played him like he was in the rotation for the first time for 3 weeks, we’ve also seen him make hustle plays, we’ve seen him guard first options very well. Pods and CP3 can’t do but maybe one of those each. You’d have a superstar player if he did each of those, all at once, while also shooting 40% from 3, and at TWENTY-ONE? That’s literally a young KD at that point, that’s what it takes? To get a crumb of run on a 10th seed?

2024-03-17 21:26:34 +0000 UTC
Moody had to hit more shots is what he had to do. The reason I was in the camp clamoring for him to get minutes was not because I was 100% sure he'd be "the answer to all our problems" which some people seem to think, but just because he deserved to get enough reps so that we could see his potential. And his potential was that he could be a decent 3 and D guy, which he is, but Podz, GP2, and CP3 have earned priority over him simply because of the intangibles and leadership they bring, which don't necessarily show up on a stat sheet. If he was shooting closer to 40% from 3, I could see the argument that he deserved to be over one of those guys, but he didn't show that level of shooting.
Neal X
2024-03-17 21:17:28 +0000 UTC

2024-03-17 21:10:56 +0000 UTC
Nothing....Kerr needs to make sure his beloved podz plays 35 min regardless of production or fit in the lineups lol. Moody should be taking atleast like 15 of those minutes especially next to cp3. Can't believe lacob paid this dude for 2 more years, if not for injury kuminga probably be on a different team or still buried with inconsistent minutes and role

As always, great game review. We definitely need a young athletic big (bigger than TJD). I'm still scratching my head how we don't have a Jackson Hayes type other than completely selfish coaching ideas.
Separately, is anyone else tracking to the lack of combined points from Draymond and Pods (11)? I know they both had great games, but I feel like we are back to having Loon out there with the starters.
This is going to be a problem if Curry or Kuminga come out cold, get locked down or find themselves in foul trouble.

Well shit they never played him, you’d have to trade him for two seconds and if he go off and put all of what we saw together everyone will want Lacob and Kerr head. And it’s not like this team don’t need the size, you cut two bigs outta the rotation and the 6’6 one you’re using now is starting to visibly move like he’s got 2 herniated discs.

What made me become a fan of JK was his on ball defense, especially against star players because he was legit locking some of them up last season, he washe first player to make me enjoy watching his defense even with his limited offensive repoitoir (last season) and I'm wondering if he can put together his new offensive workload and still be the staunch defender he was last yr, because I've seen plenty of games this yr that lets me know that he still has it but I need to see more consistent elite defense from him.
