(The closest I get is when Klay checks in with the second unit. I always laugh to myself like, “yo, this dude chucks next to Steph, you think he’s about to pass it to you??”)

2023-10-22 12:10:44 +0000 UTCI like him a lot, but Moody is like the 10th man on the roster. Derozan would provide more options on both sides of the floor. Kerr will want to play CP3 and Steph in the closing minutes, and in those instances, I'd want us to have more size.

I feel like the fans know that the young players have to contribute and they, as you mentioned, can and are willing to contribute. But do the vets and the coaching staff recognizes this as well? Last season the young players did not get so much opportunity - will this change in the upcoming season? Hopefully :) Alch, you mentioned that CP is maybe not as needed. After the trade happened, my overall thought was that the IQ of CP will help us for the season but afterwards we will let him go because he is too expensive and one of the young guns will jump in

And trade CP for just the reasons you indicated. Who the hell is going to win the West? Years ago the league was lopsided with all the good teams in the West; seems like that’s about to recur. If only the Warriors had a guard who 1)didn’t turn the ball over; 2)rebounded; 3)made the other players around him better……..Oh, yeah, Podziemski. I wish Kerr had let Trace Jackson have a go at Wemby. Why isn’t Garuba playing?

It’s like Kerr has this picture of the abilities of his players and can’t let go of it, even if it doesn’t match reality 100%. I agree with you, the young core looks completely ready. Why not let them take a good-size load to allow the vets to rest? Kerr seems to have a problem trusting non-superstars. He didn’t develop the core 3; they were starting their peaks when Kerr arrived. It’s like he’s too impatient to allow the process that’s needed. I yell at him on the tv constantly. Can’t believe he never hears me…

I propose: CP3, Moody and 2025 1st pick for Derozan (expiring). It retains our flexibility if Demar doesn't work, but significantly increases our size and tough shot making (and FT drawing).

Paddles should be approaching his prime yet he still looks like he's a 7th grader out there. He won't even play for Detroit this year until garbage time. TJD for 1/5th the money would eat his lunch right now.. That I want to see.

We might be just as bad, and possibly even a little worse. EVERY SINGLE TEAM in the league is bigger than us. We have nothing to compete with the sheer size of other teams. Theres only so much IQ and team defense can do. If TJD doesnt become some defensive anchor in like 30 games, this team is gonna be picked apart every single night. I know a lot of us are excited for this season. I am too. But we cant rely on herculean efforts from Steph every night. Kontract Klay might become an actual problem. I have very serious concerns for our defense and I wont be surprised it we are hovering the bottom half in the league on defensive rating, especially on the road.

They are making Klay put the ball on the ground which is not his game. He’s better in a motion offense and catching and shooting in rhythm like the first few shots in yesterdays game.

2023-10-21 23:22:57 +0000 UTCI think it's too early to call CP expendable I think we need to wait to see what Podz, TJD etc look like in real games against teams player better players with real stakes involved. I'm not predicting anything either way. Ideally they look great and contrary to everyone's expectations actually come in and can contribute valuable minutes right away. In that case if CP can except it his minutes could be dropped way down and we maybe get the best possible season out of him that we could. Available and healthy when we need him ready to go for the brief minutes he plays. As for Klay, he always starts slow so it's not the missing shots that bothers me it's the attitude. I hope for the sake of the young guys that he's off the team by this time next year. Build him a state, thank him for everything he did but this type of selfish player shouldn't be around the young on this team long term. Especially when all his BS is enabled by the rest of the core. It would really be a sign of maturity all around the whole team if Kuminga took Dray's spot by the end of the season and it was accepted. The wear and tear on Dray could come way down and things we get much more dynamic. Dray still has value but at some point the old core is going to have to step aside and play less. Not any day soon we hope but even Steph will have to at some point. Oh boy Wemby is a fucking show, let's hope it lasts. I felt bad for Wiggins but I think players around the league are going to suffer the same until coaches really scheme against Wemby. No one has any experience actually playing against anyone like him. Appreciate the breakdowns as always Alch, looking forward to the season.

He'll still get open shots and be impactful in the system, but the mindset has to change. As for what you were saying, I do agree it's way too early, but man I'm excited for this team. The depth is actually very real, and we do NEED Kuming/Moody, etc. to all step up and be hungry. One thing though, I hope Kerr doesn't decide to sabotage some lineups by going with CoJo over Moody some nights like he did yesterday, but to be fair it's pre-season, and honestly the depth is so good that Moody will have to fight for his mins, which is kind of a good problem to have. All in all, I really like the direction this team is heading. Makes you so much angrier after seeing how wasteful last szn was in such a weak west, and now it's way tougher, but I do think this team is headed in the right direction for possibly another ring in the Curry era. Still way too soon to say, but it's evident that this is entirely a better team than last years.

I'm not really sure what would change when the season starts - is he magically gonna get his legs back? is he gonna have some crazy mindset shift where he stops chucking it - i love klay as a sports personality and for what he's done for the team but this season could go pretty terribly if he starts off like this

Kuminga taking the next step might be what forces Klay to sign for less or leave altogether. I think Klay senses it too... Klay is acting like a wounded predator animal. I just hope he takes the humble route instead of the prideful route. But i also understand.. he feels robbed of 2-3 entire years.

I'm scared as hell that Klay will be so thirsty for shots again this year he will chuck us into way too many losses for how many games he chucks us into wins. Moody is really playing well along with JK. His lateral foot speed is a little slow but his shot and rebounding make up for it. Did you see Joran Poole's last game for Wash. I can just see the DC Hoopers all looking at each other and saying this is going to be a long year with that clown thinking he's "the face of the franchise" -Joran's quote about himself..

And it won't matter how good the bench guys are playing during the regular season. If the "Core" of this team can't defend, can't get stops, Klay being Klay, they aren't going to win in the post-season. Period.
