They said Andre was like the adult in the room in the locker room, but he also looked like the adult in the room on the court. It amazes me how, in playoff games against the NBA's best, Andre always appeared like the adult coach taking part in a middle/high school practice session. Not from a talent perspective, but from a mental perspective. Like he was just mentally above everyone else on the court, even all stars. Love that man.

Although I doubt he’d be a true Hall of Fame candidate, he definitely should have his jersey retired up with the rest of the death lineup.. truly this run wouldn’t be the same or potentially may have never happened at all without Andre teaching the young big 3 about unselfishness. Yes Kerr suggested the culture and spearheaded it but it’s nothing like having one of your best players taking a step back in their prime to help the team. I hope one day I can buy him a drink as thank you for getting DubNation to an unarguable Top 5 NBA franchise all time.

2023-10-23 14:37:44 +0000 UTCThis is so true. I moved in and out of the States growing up so my basketball was pretty under developed through junior high or so. But you can get so far by hustling on D! Do that and pick up skills as you go. It’s also easy to work on specific skills solo. In contrast, baseball has to be the absolute worst sport to pick up late. Totally unnatural skills, hustle/general athleticism means very little, and there’s no middle ground: either you’re standing around with no way to contribute or everything is on you - either at bat or (even worse) during a pop fly. (Flash backs of being the new kid from England during PE baseball 🤣)

With that being said, let's not act like KD doesn't deserve a statue outside the Chase Center one of these days. Let's not diminish what Kevin Durant brought to the table. Then he was out during the playoffs. It kinda wiped away the first contributions he made in the first 3..... cuz i felt like he was a wasted roster spot the last couple years. Also- they said having andre around was good for the young guys. well it didnt help wiseman, and moody and kuminga look better after he left.

I think as far as creating the culture that led to a Dynasty, it was Steph’s and Andre’s leadership (and Kerr’s), that cemented the winning formula. I think we’ll be able to recreate it this year. And keep on winning, the Warriors way.

I picked up ball pretty late so my offensive skillset wasn't very developed. But always had a nack for team and especially one on one primiter D - it's mostly effort and anticipation anyway, so I always got picked up even if my offense lacked compared to others.
