Heard SGA was talking shit on Twitter about us... man dun goofed, hope to see him against Playoff Warriors for the rematch.

Neal X

exactly, people still have some phatasms about game 6 Klay, well he isn't that anymore, and he isn't making these though shits anymore

Naji Zouhari

Hi Alc. According to NBA stats, we are currently the worst in the league in efg% for open shots (4-6 feet open) at 44.8%. Last season we finished 2nd at 57.1%. Any thoughts on why we aren’t hitting relatively open shots?

Ehter_293

After I watched the game, I realized that the crowd and also the bench was reacting differently to Wiggins breakout game than Klay‘s breakout game. Like everyone was cheering Wiggs and the crowd was going nuts. Everyone was happy for Wiggs. With Klay on the other hand, people were fine with the made but baskets but no one was like: „Come on, let’s get Klay going - he needs a breakout game to get out of the slump“. There was just a different energy. Does not look good if your Fan Base does not support you fully

Jakob

Hell yeah Sengun would be perfect for the Warriors. Super smart, high iq big, great passer, great rebounder. But I would've really wanted Jalen Johnson...he's PERFECT for this team.

A m a r Singg

My only real issue with Steph is the turnovers. But at this point, it's clear that isn't going away, man's close to the end of his career and still doing those silly predictable overhead passes.

Neal X

The way Jabari is doing his face up triple threat jumpers, I feel like Wiggs n JK need to utilize that too. That is way more efficient than em trying to create somethin off the bounce. Truly feel like they need to be encouraged to do that, forget the analytics.

JW

"It's about that time fellas" most accurate Warriors ever lol even though this team is only 7-8 currently at least this team is waaay more fun to watch and less frustrating than last year

KuraiT

😂

Athletic Alchemy

Kerr would have that man looking like Zaza!… nah yeah I mean He looks like a top 10 guy from his class probably 5 if I look.

Athletic Alchemy

If you could go back to 2021, would you draft Sengun (#17) at 14 instead of Moody? I realize we had Wiseman at the time, and so we weren't going to draft another young center. He's not a shot-blocker, but having a guy at the 5 who could be a legit scorer with physicality would have been interesting. The guy averages 6 assists a game so he would have likely fit. I recall the knock on him was that he wasn't very athletic and was not a great defender.

Eddie757

He did that to start the season... but guys were passing up shots and it led to Steph having to get 40 just for us to hang in games. As bad as Klay shot.. everyone else besides Saric and Mood was passing up shots. Both sides had to be addressed. Im not here saying that Klay should keep taking bad shots.. but im also saying that it aint like there was guys he was taking shot attempts from

Ballin Forever

Or… what if Klay just DIDN’T take bad shots and moved the ball and maybe got it back when he was open

John Pettus

Alch — Dillon Brooks is like the Taliban. You DON’T gotta hand it to ‘em.

John Pettus

The amount they force fed Klay was nuts. I know they want to get him going but even if he gets back into form offensively and is largely efficient the rest of the season his deficiencies everywhere else mean this team won't really have a chance of getting out of the first round.

Alasdair Macdonald

Moody is getting 18 minutes per game right now. That's about where you would want a player like him to be on a good team. I have no issues with how they are using Moody.

A m a r Singg

I think we may have a different idea of of open shots.. but I agree the presser was not exactly encouraging

Athletic Alchemy

haha I brought it back a few times to see cause initially I though oh he stuck that fool

Athletic Alchemy

I like that take.. and maybe a little old head pride as the SGA's and Ants are really starting to emerge

Athletic Alchemy

lol facts he looked good

Athletic Alchemy

i'm not tryna make it a klay vs moses thing. i'm just saying moses has looked good in his minutes and shows flashes of being able to have a bigger role and we should at least give him 20-24 minutes consistently and see how he does. we won't lose a game because of him because he's pretty steady. also he was a lottery pick for a reason

bruhchillll

He looks nice! Fred’s contract is 2+1 team option* that’s gotta be the plan.. but too me Dillion is gonna be a value contract.

Athletic Alchemy

I think Steph’s scoring mindset comes from CP backing him as the guy.. Steph’s idol (cp3) is proin the locker room telling him “f all that team work, be selfish!” And Steph has always been the big brother pretty much so to have that Steph trying to show off..

Offtopic K

what about Klay ? catastrophic off the dribble, only shoots off balance shots that he doesnt make anymore, turnover machine, and above all, shot happy...at least Moody will have the brain cells to only shoot good shots, Moody is opportunistic which is all you need

Naji Zouhari

If anyone in the universe has earned the right to take any shot they damn well please, it's the Chef

Neal X

I had no clue Wiggs only had 12.. felt like he had 25

Ballin Forever

We went throught the same thing last year with Klay.. he started off horrible... we killed him. And then he gradually started to catch a rhythm and then tore the league up for the rest of the season. Klay is like a muscle car with bad handling... on a straight road, he is great... but when its time to take turns and hug corners... it ends up in a ditch lmao. I hope that analogy makes sense

Ballin Forever

Klay def took bad shots.. but i think we also underrating how poorly the entire team has been shooting. When everyone is shooting bad.. those Klay shots just makes it 10X worse. But when everyone is in a groove.. the margin for error is wider and we can let Klay see if he has a heater. If we can get 2-way Wiggs back.. i dont mind Klay testing the water.. especially if he is knocking down the open ones. It's when he isnt making the easy ones and then take hard ones (pause) that kills the team

Ballin Forever

I want Klay to have a 40+ pt. game so they can move him......One missing element in the losing streak = Saric 3pter's. He needs to chip in 3 or 4 every night.

Jerry Heverly

Can't say I agree with your take on Klay. He hit more shots because these were for the most part more open less 1-on-1 shots than in his recent games where he was forcing it or got left holding the bag on offense. Wish he was more self aware of that though than he sounded in his presser.

B Master

CP3 with Kuminga Dario and TJD made a lot of sense as a bench lineup last night. Dario doesn’t have to be the back line of defense, and I think Klay was in there to space the floor. Either Klay or Moody can slot in there pretty nicely, that’s a lineup that has defense and shooting and the puzzle pieces seem to fit. Hope we see more of it 🤞

Luke Zhang

TDJ, Kum and Wiggins when he gets in shape are enough vertical spacing

Naji Zouhari

For the most part he seems about it but there’s also been moments where he’s run from the smoke, like last year’s playoffs claiming the media and fans made him a villain and tucking his tail and not showing up to do media after the whooping against the Lakers

Luke Zhang

Still can't get use to 30 scoring off a chode assist lmao

Vulacior

i can see how low we sunk when fans are celebrating a very average Klay game, we will need to move on from him, he is like a spoiled kid who requires the whole team to baby his feelings and let him take absurd shots... ITS NOT WORTH IT ANYMORE

Naji Zouhari

https://youtu.be/lEv5wEURjow?feature=shared The game comes easy to him. That size, vision, and athleticism at the 1 with a strong front court. Doesn't matter what I think, Houston believes this that's why they used there last top 5 pick of the decade on him. But it could be wasted if he's forced into a role player role.

Stevie Ray

Tell me CP didn't try to Vulcan Nerve Punch VV after that foul lolol

Nathan Glanzer

I’m not saying he won’t be nice.. I’m just curious to how you could speak so definitively on him. We all waiting to see him in the L

Athletic Alchemy

Seems natural too me 🤷🏽‍♂️

Athletic Alchemy

Alright man, time will tell

Stevie Ray

Bro Moody is not someone you want creating off the dribble. Can he do it at times and do it while attacking a closeout? sure, once in a while. But that's not his game. He's not REALLY a better defender than Klay right now either. Klay's demise has bee overstated. Klay is strong enough to guard most threes and even some 4s. Moody is a tweener on defense. Not really strong enough for most 3s, not really quick enough for most 2s. He can flash here and there with his length, but the footspeed is lacking.

A m a r Singg

and only 34%.

A m a r Singg

Believe me, I want Moody to be a better player than Klay now. And I agree with all of the positive attributes mentioned. But he is only shooting butt nekkit 3s rt now

Jim

Haha. Theatre nerd makes me like him more. Sorry but I like the freaks. I turned a corner on him the way he was vilified in Memphis. Felt badly for the kid.

Jim

Klay's still doing the same shit, different day, but it looks better because he got some better luck and some better looks thanks to Steph being out there and Wiggins showing life again. I always feel so disappointed whenever I see a skilled big like Sengun on another team, wondering why we could never seem to pick up anyone like that. Imagine what that could unlock for us.

Neal X

he may only have a right hand but that's one more hand than klay and is definitely better than klay on D now. he may struggle to stay in front of quick players, but he at least is gonna be able to recover and make a play on the ball. there's nothing wrong with being the 7th/8th man. i'm just saying that he can play a bigger role than he is rn and he can create off the dribble, which is something the team lacks

bruhchillll

You deep dove OT elite? I just haven’t seen him enough he got hurt 1st gm at SL and then again right to start the season. I’ve seen way more of Ausar who looks great. But I’m not gonna assume they are gonna be the same, or as good.

Athletic Alchemy

This is also the Houston Honey moon phase for Dillon. Not sure how many season he's willing to be the good soldier

Stevie Ray

Brooks doesn’t own shit. Remember when he pushed a camera guy off a ledge just for shits and giggles? Dude is a weirdo. He wasn’t trying to break GP2s elbow obviously but he was trying to fucking crumple him in the air. At least Draymond just kicks you in the nuts or punches you in the face, normal schoolyard fight shit. Brooks is actually not normal, like a theater nerd trying to play a tough guy.

Major Powers

"Chode pride" LMAO

Dane Nakamura

Deep dove his tape coming into the deft after seeing his passing and facilities abilities. Watched a lot of Rockets early before he got hurt. He's raw, and needs minutes with the ball in his hands. You disagree, not as high on him? Both those twins are future All-Stars

Stevie Ray

this is what Steph wants. Watch him whenever he gets the ball in the backcourt, he's looking for a primary. This is how he's always been. he's also a turnover MACHINE right now, so it's best he doesn't handle that much.

A m a r Singg

Moody is not a replacement for Klay, no way no how. His ceiling is looking like a good 7/8 man on a good team.

A m a r Singg

Moody isn't as good as you think bro. He only has a right hand near the basket, can barely dribble, he doesn't shoot well off movement, he's slow footed on defense. He isn't even very good at attacking closeouts. His closeouts have been bad lately; he gets blown by athletic players ( and even slow players). This would be a good video for ALC to make. Moody is a pretty limited player who gets hyped up by Warriors fans. Podz is a better player in almost every aspect (except size), and there's a reason why Kerr is playing him so much as a rookie. FYI, Moody is shooting 34% from 3...his main value is supposed to be as a shooter, he's shooting wide open looks. There were much better picks to take at #14 than Moody (Sengun, Murphy, Jalen Johnson). It is what it is, looks like another botched pick.

A m a r Singg

You have seen Amen that much?

Athletic Alchemy

It's a cute team, but the trio of Amen, Jabari, and Sengun has contender potential. Alongside the possible pieces in Cam and Eason (and maybe J-Green but that doesn't seem like the case thus far). If you think they can get plus value for Brooks a year or two from now I guess understand the logic of holding it down. But with VanVleet I think the culture is set. Like you said Jabari needs more touches, but Amen could easily become Houston's Kuminga if the beast is not fed. He has All-NBA written all over him. He is the future motor of their offense and primary facilitator.

Stevie Ray

I think it would have to get really ugly for them to pull the trigger on a Klay deal.. now a sign and trade in the offseason seems more plausible.. a “mutual parting of ways”

Athletic Alchemy

Yeah I don’t see that rn.. they need to really establish this new culture

Athletic Alchemy

He owns it, it’s who he is

Athletic Alchemy

For me it’s dribbling too much. Or settling for a deep one.. never really too many attempts

Athletic Alchemy

Imagine if he just had some vertical spacing. I hope he stays aggressive all year. In the playoffs it's gonna be him as a high volume shooter killing it or an early exit, so might as well play that way from the get.

Stevie Ray

Love the breakdowns, Alc one of the best doing it. That said, I feel like Steph Curry shooting “too much” is one of the few things in basketball that should NEVER be criticized. Like, it’s Steph. Now his carelessness with the ball, and occasional passiveness, that’s fair game.

NoGroupThink

It's one of the biggest arguments in support of a Klay Thompson trade. Of course, the hope is that his expiring + picks brings back a missing piece in the puzzle of Kerr's frontcourt rotation, but by eliminating Klay from the backcourt rotation, there is theoretically a huge addition by subtraction in the Moody, Pods, and Kuminga minutes. If Klay is not traded, it would be ideal at least in regular-season basketball for Klay and Mood to switch minutes roles.

Stevie Ray

yall either say Steph too passive or too aggressive, I say let the man cook

james moore

Did you see Kerr said they're going to start practicing more? Um ya, ya think that's a good idea?? I cannot believe I like Chris Paul as much as I do.

Allison Hendrix

moody has so much more to his game than he's being allowed to do. you see him making tough shots, being able to create space off the dribble sometimes and shoot over defenders. we only get to see it like once a game, but it seems like he's able to create a good look each time for himself. he also is a disruptor on D. he's always poking balls loose, getting in the trenches, tipping passes, etc. and most important of all - i trust him

bruhchillll

“Chode pride” 😭😭😭

Ruben Valce

Kevon is averaging 24 mins a game (played 22 in this one). With the way he's currently built physically and heading toward 30, it needs to be 20 and below. As Alch pointed out in the past, his per 36 impact is just higher when his overall load is under 20. I don't think using him in the opening minutes is a good utilization of his impact. Coming off the bench, the initial speed of the game reduces in the opposition and Loon's style and speed fit better.

Stevie Ray

It wasn't intentional but it was reckless

Branden Edwards

I agree. I love Dillon Brooks, great pickup for HOU. Aside from the GP2 injury (which you have to assume was not intentional), hes just a high energy, big body, defensive menace thats improved his game. The whole goon and demonstrative stuff is hilarious also. Staring down LeBron like a serial killer is my favorite funny moment of the NBA so far

Jim

only if it was straight up, should the Warriors even consider it. but the Bulls would want two 1sts, and Lavine's inability to defend combined with his injury history with the knee red flag him as the final acquisition for the dynasty.

Stevie Ray

I know how exciting it must be for Houston fans to have such a quick evolution from a purebred tanker to a playoff-caliber caliber hard-nosed unit - But it would suit them best to pump the breaks and sell on Dillion at the deadline. I loved their offseason in the moment and it's paid off even better than I expected chemistry-wise. But long term, they have so many weapons that need more touches to develop. If Brooks had a shorter contract it'b fine, but he's locked up for 4 (on a good contract) and if made available on the trade market, should be highly coveted by contenders.

Stevie Ray

What do you think about all this talk about trading Klay for Lavine. I never thought Lavine was all that but it does address the scoring issue we have

Tyler Gerch

Surprise Kerr called a time out
