Warriors vs Denver | GM- 34

Comments

Can you give an example so we understand what you mean?

John Pettus

I respect the take, but substantially disagree. The Warriors are NOT creating a future from scratch. Not while we've got the Chef. What we're trying to do is give him the support around him to compete with today's NBA (not 2015s). I admit the motion weave and same olde split action is looking REALLY creaky at this point. All team know it, and have sussed out the best strategies against it. AND our team is not that good at running it. I would love to see more, different attacks on offense, like we've added the pick and pop with Saric, and a little bit of the Spain PNR with TJD. But more importantly, on JK: JK can have any dialogues inside the organization that he wants. But one person has to be the decision maker and that decisionmaker can't be undermined (or, worse, forced into a choice against their will) by a junior player, because then it's chaos. Moody will do it. Cory Joseph. Looney doesn't like no starting, so he starts dropping dimes on not just Kerr, but Steph's passivity as a leader. You can't have it. One person has to be in charge. And the team has to be unified behind that leadership and the strategy they've chosen. Or the team/organization cannot succeed. Going outside for leverage to get something you want, that's better for you, is selfish AND hurts the team.

John Pettus

Jordan Poole did kinda say all that though, in so many words. And it got him traded. His pride backfired on him. But it can also backfire on a coach, too. I understand what you’re trying to say, but Kerr is proving he knows the most about the warriors history, and showing he’s not fearless enough to create the warrriors future. From scratch. That takes REAL critical thinking to abandon your routine and use new tools. It’s not about JK being self-interested, it’s about asking for an update on an old system. I don’t see anything wrong with that as a dialogue inside or outside of the team. If you’re at the controls, you SHOULD welcome new useful information, no matter where it comes from. If you deny it, it appear to be a matter of politics.

yan't get right

Well, I think for that last possession by the Warriors, if the ball is in Chris Paul's hands, that is the way to go. Then Klay, Curry can do their thing, screens are being set, Denver is overplaying, and that opens up maybe someone going to the rim for an easy back door 2. Paul is a great decision maker at the point. So I don't know if I agree that he needs to be off the floor, at least on offense.

David Post

Just trade Wiggins and Chris Paul’s contract and get Draymond back on the ball more

terrance stearns

Generally it's a mistake to think that you can read people's minds. Especially when most people a "reasoning backwards" to the conclusion that they want. (I study critical thinking. And sports talk is some of the worst critical thinking around. That's why Alch is so good!)

John Pettus

You're entitled to your opinion about who's right, but you can't run a successful organization where the self-interested people who know the least get to overrule the coach who knows the most. Because if that's how you want the organization to run, then you also have Jordan Poole blowing up the team saying he should be the starting PG. And Wiseman saying that he should start at the 5 to get the experience and then they will start winning, etc.

John Pettus

Encouraging to hear Steph agrees JK should have played the end of Denver game, and line ups already changed in Detroit game. The issue with Wiggins and JK sharing the floor is it takes away ball handlers on the floor and makes Steph’s off-game harder. Might work with JK in the future being on ball more, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where Kerr goes later in the season, especially with CP’s injury.

Apple

UncleAlch: we need to keep Kerr away from Chris Paul Basketball Gods: hold my beer

Ivan

Nah Kerr blew up the team by not coaching to win but to please egos. And Kuminga is managing the team to win via the press. This is on Kerr.

B Master

I generally feel that when Kerr doesn’t have rotations that balance inside and outside presence curry ends up attempting hard shots because they lack a balanced team offense.

B Master

good take, Neal X, and thanks for keeping it positive! Yes, it was encouraging imo. We also played them well on Christmas day. Still it's a concern that we just can't seem to get over the hump and that the vets keep peeing the bed instead of closing out teams. And that's in fact one thing I'd like to point out about Kuminga. Have you noticed how many times he's hit a shot at a key moment in the game when we seem to be struggling to score? And although he hasn't seen much 4th quarter action EVER, even then he's played well. The guy is fearless and so far (limited data pool) pretty clutch imo. Definitely would have preferred him to CP3 to close the darn game.

Childe Costa

Kerr literally been toying around with this young guys trying to make it in the league. They been pretty good at holding it back overall IMO. Kerr literally has been sabotaging the past 2 years and the twilight years of Steph’s prime with his own selfish agendas. Yeah JK probably shouldn’t have done that for the team’s sake but I can see why he get he had to. If I were the kid’s dad I’ve been calling out Kerr way earlier than that.

A L

To paint an even clearer picture, let's juxtapoze Alch's insightful analysis with the irrefutable facts of the play-by-play (link bottom). As we can see, the only player to hit a shot in the last 6 minutes of play was the rookie TJD. But while everyone else on the floor missed one attempt, (well 2 for Klay) Steph missed a whopping 5 in a row. So it's no coincidence that Alch has Steph under the microscope. But more than the volume, it was the type of shots that gave us viewers an ever-growing sense of foreboding. And sure enough, after hoisting a couple of ill-advised moon-shots, Steph decided to regale us all with another of his brain-dead, cross body and cross court "passes" which ultimately sealed our demise (there's no way we're winning in overtime). So excessive dribbling has almost always foretold imminent disaster with Klay but now that rule also seems to be applying, with growing frequency, to Steph as well. Our chances for a positive outcome seem to dwindle with each tick of the clock when he starts performing those showy mating dances. But of course we're not leading this game by 18 without Steph and we're not winning another title without Steph. And Steph's unraveling certainly doesn't exempt Kerr from blaim either. Kuminga could have made scoring a little easier for us down the stretch and if nothing else, why not go with your best defenders up by 18 points with 6 to play? Long story short, Alch's diagnosis is spot-on: Kerr is an addict who in the presence of his "go-to" cocktail simply can't resist. I'd go as far as to say that were it not for Dray's suspension, we still wouldn't really know just how talented JK is (he'd be warming the bench all game). As for Steph, aside from the defensive lapses in effort and focus, I'm not sure how realistic it is to expect him to improve. It seems to me he's always been a dancer and he's always been a somewhat "pre-determined" play-maker. So asking him to tone-down the panache after he's dazzled us for 15 straight years is a very tall order. But while Curry is a demigod and Icarus was a mere mortal, it does seem that Curry's wings too can melt when he repeatedly chooses to fly in the spotlight. Perhaps a few more Mike Conley type "sound basketball plays" per game, even at the expense of one or two fewer jaw-dropping plays, could lift his game to an even higher level. Just a thought. Go Warriors. Go Alch! Play by play link: https://www.nba.com/game/den-vs-gsw-0022300478/play-by-play?period=Q4

Childe Costa

Just to be Devil's advocate for a second, didn't they build the 4th qtr lead without Kuminga out there? I didn't watch this game, just going by the vid. So if there's a really egregious decision here, it's playing CP3; but I also agree that putting Kuminga in would have provided defense and aggression, leading to foul calls. But doesn't the issue at the end of the come down to the "vets" and Wiggins just kinda playing like shit? Even CP3 seemed really gunshy and didn't want to take shots, and missed the ones he did take. Can't score, can't create shots, can't defend, sloppy decisions and turnovers? Is that REALLY on Kerr, or just that all his veteran, highly-paid "stars" all decided to shit the bed in the last 5 minutes? I think it's at least a mix of both, there's blame to go around here. And of course, Denver's a really strong team. The fact that it looked like we could not only beat them, and beat them comfortably, was somewhat encouraging, no?

Neal X

Maybe he did it because he wants to get traded.

Karan Minhas

Strong play by play breakdown of crunch time decisions, rotations. I agree Alch, if CP3 isn’t in quarterback role, why’s he out there?! https://x.com/_jasonlt/status/1743333463636529281?s=61&t=R5Hz9Li3Vs82Dt-F9QK_XQ

Chip Tingle

Well we could always give steph the kobe treatment.. steph is on the books for the rest of his career. I’ve followed his career from the start and I’m willing to bet my last dollar that he wouldn’t take the ben Simmons role and refuse to play. Honestly couldn’t even see steph lessening his play to spite the warriors. Draymond as well already signed his contract.. now I can see him revolting but if that happens draymond can go!

Offtopic K

Unpopular opinion I'm sure—but seeing a 3rd year player blowing up the coach in the media today really pissed me off. I know everybody constantly talks about how much Kerr sucks as he keeps winning chip after chip and making playoff runs, but you just CAN'T have young players taking their beef outside the organization. Essentially, I think our season ended today. Kuminga stuck a knife in Kerr's back, and everyone knows it. The locker room is completely toxic now, and JK did it because JK is a me-first guy and not a team-first guy. I've been arguing to have the middle 40 games be explicitly about giving the youth most of the minutes. I still would like that. But at this point I think we need to trade CP3 and JK for a 4 who can create (and ideally a 5 who can protect the rim). But nah. Season is over. The vibes are TOXIC. If I were Kerr I'd say No Thanks to coaching for these assholes and retire at the end of the season. This is not a team anymore.

John Pettus

Booo

John Pettus

If Kuminga wants "out," I don't blame him. Kerr hasn't shown that he's willing to develop him, and JK has done nothing but continue to show us he's worth more minutes. And Loon ain't it fam. We need more! and He limits our depth whenever we're in critical moments.

k. marcelous

I can’t imagine. Look how hard it was to convince Lacob to give up on JWise.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Sources say too that Kuminga has lost his faith in Kerr, https://theathletic.com/5181608/2024/01/05/jonathan-kuminga-steve-kerr-warriors-lineup/?amp=1

Hernan Moreno Jr

Some sick part of me wants them to lose to Detroit tonight with a solid performance from j wise just to see the chaos on the tl

Gunners4life

Kerr is doling out minutes like a mama bird does to all the screaming chicks in the nest. And some of the chicks are starving to death, just like in real life. It's not the way to run a team.

Neal X

I mean the silver lining is that when Klay gives the ball up early like he has been doing, the ball ends up finding him again when he's wide open. All game him and kuminga were having some really good moments together. Its painful to watch these same bad decisions rotationally all the time. Like sure mess with rotations until you find one where certain guys are excelling. I thought for sure that was going to be kumingas best game of the year. For him to sit that last 18 minutes is mind blowing. I mean if we're looking down the depth chart who's ahead of kuminga at this point? In my mind its Steph and after that its debatable. Don't even get me started on Moody. Did the dude sleep with kerrs wife or something?? How can that man be so buried on the bench?

Pelvis

Lmao that would be not very different from what he's been doing since he got the job... riding steph. The real 4D move (which is actually 2D because every single fan can see it) is to just accept that Kuminga can really help Steph's legacy better than most people

yan't get right

Warriors would have lost the game in overtime.

Roland_D

I think you’re one of the few analysts I’ve seen consistently talk about “pre-determined”-ness as a recipe for disaster in certain moments. It’s really so obvious when you break it down. But it also makes sense, you’ve been watching these warriors for years. And I think that’s the problem with a system. These 4 guys (core 3 plus Kerr) can each run their pet actions on their routine and know that the other guy is gonna pick up the slack. That’s why they’ve worked so perfectly. The organism itself causes a lot of chaos even though the individuals who make it up are all very pre-determined. They’re playing off each others’ paths, and no team can scheme for 3 guys all on a string. But it’s pretty much time for them all to grow up and embrace the individual paths their lives are going to HAVE to take after this run. Your tape on Steph is spot on. Have we ever seen an aging superstar—who you obviously HIDE on defense—be this eager to look like he’s doing something on the defensive end? When Kobe was at the end of it all, he just chilled out on D so he could be a shot chucker on the other end. Bron does the same shit now. THAT’s the agreement. But Steph looks idiotic with his altruistic attempts to be a defender. Like, are you this insecure about the way you’ve had Klay and Draymond cover for your limitations all these years? That’s the point of a system tho!! When you ain’t shit (like you mentioned with his passing), the other guys are supposed to pick up your slack. But it’s obvious now, a system creates SO many issues for individuality, that they can’t recognize themselves as singular players and coaches anymore. They can’t make decisions that go beyond their decade long pre-determined programming. And boy, it is obvious WAY sooner than expected why Bob Myers got the hell up outta there. The direction of this team is literally a Rubik’s cube. He’s gonna have the memoir of a generation. All misery aside though: I think this season will continue to be about timing. And the silver lining of these early season gut punches is that we’re actually having to PAY for for all this system shit early. It’s very obvious change is needed, and it could come very swiftly… just not now. So there’s still time to have those ugly conversations. And if not, then it dies. But personally, I’m most excited for Kuminga to find his potential, wherever that may be.

yan't get right

Lol there is no way anyone who been watching this team can tell me it isnt personal with kerr and kuminga. Bro can be having a career day but let anyone off the bench be playing half decent kuminga is the odd man out lol Kerr basketball iq is in question. Does he not realize it's important to have easy inside scoring and that in turn makes it easier to get 3 pointers off? We can't close because Kerr rerverts to small ball 3 point jacking instead of having his most efficient scorer in kuminga on the attack

k fish

Why do teams keep hitting these bullshit game winners on us? The Jokic Shot, Chet's turn around fadeaway, Sadiq Bey's game winner, and Dwayne Wade's blocked bank shot. Smh

Qiushi Hu

I think winning the championship is clearly out the window. And I don't see Siakam or Lauri suddenly fixing this team either. I think we are naturally witnessing the end of a dynasty. My bigger worry is what direction this franchise is taking for the next 3-4 years. I'm worried we will commit to Klay long-term and ride the Big 3 into the sunset, playing mediocre basketball until they finally retire. I don't want to sound ungrateful because this core 3 + Kerr has given us so much over the last decade. But at the same time, I don't want to watch them waste away as Father time catches up to them. I would much rather trade them for assets and kickstart a rebuild toward a new era of Warriors basketball.

Jacob

i understand the addiction part Kerr has towards small ball and CP3, but to CP3's credit, he does have some of the better advanced stats on the team. it just seems like whenever he is on the floor some good things will happen. it just won't be blocked shots or rebounds.

Bryan Yu

Whats so crazy about kerr small addiction is that is was never literal small ball it was relative small ball until poole started playing

JSII

I actually had to delete what I was writing here three different times cause it ended up being just angry ranting lol. In the end Steve has told us over and over who he is and how it's gonna be. I'm not one of those guys who says let them go out on their shield, but now I'm just like fuck it if that's what Lacob really wants it's his money and his team. But don't go calling yourself or this franchise light years no more.

Francis Arachea

Body language is a tell tale sign of a lot of shit and his defensive effort is inexcusable bro. As players get older they get slower and become less able, but at the same time they become more efficient with their movements and able to see things clearer and even take shortcuts to help make up for the lack of youth they once had. But steph still likes closing out like a 12 year old throwing both of his hands up from 30 feet away . You think at 35 he’d have something figured out. Gotta take the good with the bad, I know that, but it’s definitely inexcusable. It’s just taboo for a lot of dubs fan to say when steph is messin up

sleeve nash

It just darned on me … Kerr is not stupid… there is only one reason for playing Wiggins over JK now… DKCV … Dunleavy/Kerr Creating Value Wiggins gone

Jello Smooth

I know MDJ said the decision to let Poole go didn’t keep him up at night…so is it gonna be the same easy decision with kerr or what 😂Most young players aren’t going to say something that questions their own head coaches decision making. Kerr is fucking the relationship up with Kuminga and its most likely going to become irreparable is not already. At this point I don’t want to watch any more wasted talent, I’d rather see us let JK go, as far as I know all we’ve done for him was nickname him KumBucket and have Kerr not play him enough. Sounds like we’re blueballing the shit of JK

sleeve nash

I think it may be less about Kerr himself and the package deal of Kerr, Steph, Klay and Dray. If any one of those 4 goes before the others, the rest will revolt. I think I TOTALLY understand now why Bob Myers hit the road when he did. Who wants to make that decision?

yan't get right

I laughed when Jokic hit that shot. I don't even feel upset anymore really. It's just hilarious watching this team lmao. No words fam.

Crimson

I have been a big supporter for kerr throughout his tenure with the warriors - but this was the game where i'm officially done. I'd rather lose him than lose a player like kuminga for nothing. We were up 18!!! In the fourth!!! And he wouldnt even play the guy that would change the pace of the game?? Why would you only play kuminga 18 minutes and put trayce in at the end of the game?? It's a give and take, and he won't even give kuminga the chance up double digits in the fourth quarter.

David Lui

disagree. as much as Steph "dribbles the shit" out of the ball, it's mostly a roster construction issue. Steph isn't a glorified JJ Reddick, he's gonna Steph. Curry is already top 10 all time and most people already see has as the current best PG in the world (i mean right now at the 11th seed...not so much) but i just think the warriors are finished. the Warriors have to make a drastic move if they truly want to compete because it's almost over. this is how dynasties fall

ChizzyTheKid

What if Kerr is playing 4D chess for Steph? Lacob and Dunleavy want to keep Kuminga and thinks he can be the future (and I think we do, too), but Kerr is riding for Steph's legacy and Steph's legacy alone, so is forcing the team to trade Kuminga (+others) for a real player to help Steph.

Major Powers

Hey Alch, I’m curious, in your opinion if we let go of Steve in the summer and keep the young guys, who’s the best coach for this team in your opinion?

Ruben Valce

Draymond might be annoying, but this is the prime example of why we need him. He is our point forward, and he gets Steph into the role he was meant to play, shooting guard. With him gone, I'd want Pods as the point, Steph 2, Klay 3, Kuminga 4, Take your pick 5. I think Pods can survive on most shooting guards in the league defensively. So you can still put Steph on their pg on defense. But let's be real, Kerr isn't going to run the offense through a rook in the 4th.

Vulacior

Kerr went back to the scripted minutes. He really has no feel for the game while it's happening. I get that this is a difficult roster to balance; every "vet" is only good on offense OR defense. But when you're an NBA coach, winning games comes down to playing the right guys at the right time. This loss was 100% on Kerr. And this is probably the 6th loss this season that's down to horrible rotations.

Mike Peterson

I’ve been a big kerr supporter but I’m keeping kuminga. No question

Ruben Valce

We don’t have to be a ‘championship team’ for me to watch every game - but this sh*t - I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♂️. Why is there so much drama?! We’re over thinking this - trying to be too cute - let’s put our best players on the court and let them play. Smh

Ryan Mitchell

Truth

Seb P

Great observation, I feel bad for these 2 dudes man. Really do

Ruben Valce

This feels like a loss where something had got to happen

Mike Gonzalez

I agree with the breakdown and now the Shams/Slater article came out that Kuminga doesn’t like Kerr. This is becoming a national headline. Kuminga came out in a tied game and they went up 18 and Kerr thought they didn’t need him. He thought they needed the veteran savvy of CP and Saric. He was wrong. And he seems not to believe in Kuminga or Moody. Why doesn’t Kerr trust him but he trusts Podz? Is it bc Kerr was a little guy who was safe with the ball?

Gary

Word is Dray is about to come back. Hope he is as Alc says fit and ready to go cause we need him.

Mason Joe

Didn't get to watch the game live, but when I heard the Dubs were up double digits in the 2nd half, I had no confidence they were going to hold the lead. Not only did they blow another double-digit lead, the way they lost it was especially painful. Shows why the Nuggets are the favorites to represent the Western Conference in June, and the Dubs are scrapping and clawing to try and get into the play-in: Great teams finish off their opponents. They didn't, and honestly haven't done that consistently for a while now. As for the report on JK calling out Kerr, I honestly don't blame him. As you said in your breakdown, he has his flaws, but he's been doing everything he's been asked to do: getting to the rim to draw fouls, defending the other team's best scorer with Draymond out, running the split action well with Steph and Klay, etc. And yet he still can't get off the bench in the 4th quarter. If Kerr's worried about JK messing it up in crunch time, we're long past that. The guys Kerr constantly puts out on the court in crunch time have not consistently done their jobs in securing the win. I get Kerr has to deal with managing a roster of vets and young guys who deserve playing time (that will get more difficult once Draymond returns), but that's why he's getting paid to do so. Malone did just that in this game by benching MPJ for Peyton Watson on that run. Malone has done a great job of establishing his starting 5 and rotation while slowly integrating their young guys like Watson and eventually Strawther. Kerr has shown no desire to do that unless the young guys play exactly as he wants them to. Just a frustrating night, but as always thanks for the breakdown Alc!

Nick Elliston

Why put it on CP3 when Wiggins is averaging career lows in 3 different statistical categories and getting a pass. It may have cost us the relationship of our best young player.

Kd127

Yeah. I've lost respect for Steph this season. It's not just Klay, Steph has an agenda to prove himself to be the best PG in the world and I'm sure that's because Magic counted his accolades before the seasons started to say he's not better than Magic. This isn't the first game where the team has bled away leads, Steph has decided he's going to let the team win on his term vs Warriors basketball. It's funny to think CP is the one who's sharing the ball vs our OG strength in numbers, face of the franchise these days

Nyeooooowmmmm

its demoralizing to lose such young great players like Moody and Kumminga, yea we get it Wiseman was maybe lazy, but Moody and Kumminga worked hard for minutes, only for them to not get them ? i am disgusted

Naji Zouhari

Hadn't seen highlights or watched the game cause I had to missed it last night and all I heard was "where's Kuminga?? why play Wiggs before??" I had assumed Wiggs was in but then I saw TJD and Saric (who we've never played together down the stretch) and was like ??? I'm assuming you'll have a YT vid up about JK's comments but damn man. Really looks like we need to make a trade

Abhi Kelkar

Did not like all the walking the dog we did to milk the clock. We were playing to not lose vs playing to win. And like free throws it can disrupt your rhythm.

PandemicP

Got home from work early to catch the last 5 minutes.... lmao

Leif

Steve needs to let JK grow into the player he is destined to be. This is one of his most egregious losses I have ever witnessed. I refused to watch the 4th qtr. Yeah he is gonna make a few mistakes but he's due those in order to learn from them. It was just sickening to see the vets blow this while the youngins sit and observe their bs play. I like Kerr as a person but you gotta let those kids win you games when they deserve to be out there.

Patsy Ralls

I hear you, Alc, but you can’t ask MDJ to be both GM and coach. If the org can’t trust its coach to get the most out of his players, then they need a new coach.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Probably kenny.. or bring in a development coach for now like doc and who knows who will be available in the next year or so with how fragile coaching jobs are in the nba.. I probably wouldn’t fire kerr but would give him an ultimatum saying Kuminga gets a promised 30 minutes per game or something regardless of his play.

Offtopic K

I think along with him going.. it might be time to break up the core… they still have good trade value that could get us a young near all star player… I expect steph to still be a 25 point scorer for another 2-3 years so why not take a slight step back if kuminga star and podz/ trayce are really good starters by that point… draymond, klay, loon, and Wiggins just look worse every year to me

Offtopic K

Watching Chef and Jokic and SGA, that is a difference of Superstar quality in them. Jokic and SGA always made the right play and seldom any turnovers. While Chef’s bad turnovers in clutch situations is a thing,

Natto Santo

Fuck allat addiction shit get rid of Kerr, im tired of having the same conversations again and again when its obvious we wouldn't be having these problems if Kerrs retarded ass didn't keep putting in the worst lineups ever for absolutely no reason. I don't see any other coach in the NBA doing this same shit again and again and again and again and seeing that its not working and thinking fuck it lets go small yet again, haven't seen what happens 50 fucking times already. Im over it, im done defending him, I want him gone.

Shiv

At 2:04 in the second, Alch called out Curry for trying to jump the passing lane on Jokic. Watch Steph get mad at Kuminga as if it was his fault. Kuminga sat the rest of the second after that.

Goku44

That’s a hard one for me. I’ve been a huge kerr supporter over the last few years. Even with his frustrating rotations and over reliance on small ball lineups. But man at this point with jk and moods it feels like personal or something lol. Like there’s no basketball reason to bury them on the bench. Especially when giving trance and podz minutes so it’s not a young guy thing. If it means keeping kuminga I’d probably fire Kerr especially since the writings on the wall that he’ll probably leave after this season. Problem is who would the replacement be? Kenny? Mda? Doc? lol not a ton of great coaches on the market

Connor H

I remember you’ve been saying klay’s mindset this year has disappointed you most… that’s me for steph! The talks have started with people wondering if steph or kobe has been a better player all time and I think steph has chosen to stop playing his way and take a kobe mindset. He’s no longer okay with dropping 20 and 10 if it turns into a blowout win. It feels that steph needs to be the reason the won every game and the only other person he’s willing to see go off is Klay. This is a broken team and honestly I think it will take either kerr, klay, or draymond to go so this selfish aura is changed in the culture

Offtopic K

Love the logic that Steph can't be the best shooter and a playmaker. More evidence supporting the need for Dray.

Matt Cohen

These guys played 42 mins of the best basketball ive seen. Somewhere in the 3rd was thinkin how bad of a move it would b trading kuminga 😓

Mikey H

This was a masterpiece Alch. Keep up the good work and send us a link to discord if you still can.

Hg80

Great breakdown-I think all of Dub Nation following you here on Patreon was waiting for this one to help us get through the day after that catastrophic disaster of a game. Steve Kerr-he is a great human being and one of the main reasons there is a Dub Nation; but he has not been coaching well for awhile now. Who is he coaching and what is it for? Is it for the egos of his vets? He says it's a different discussion if the big 3 and the vets aren't the ones who get the minutes-we need them to play well to win a title. Well-we're not winning a title with them-that's obvious. So either quit or do something else-coach the youngsters and give someone who has helped your team numerous times some damn playing time when fire breaks out in the 4th quarter. This was freaking maddening-I'm still pissed and even more pissed as JK is probably on the way out now. I don't want to see another Chris Webber trade for Tom Gugliotta; I want to see the growth of the youth and there's still time to do that AND get Steph another chip. However-the franchise is still more important than Steph; it's about the team-not the star.

Paul Hanson

When Jokic hit the last shot, Kuminga left the court while the ball was still in the basket. Moody was the only Warrior who wasn't standing during the play. I think they are both done with this team.

Goku44

I hope we lose tonight. Kerr has to go.

Vincent Zendejas

OMG! At 9:12 in the breakdown I had to pause my video because I was laughing too hard and nearly spit my drink all over the computer keyboard! That interview with "Allie" was fucking GOLD!

Everyone shitting on Steph but it is what it is . He is 35 and already did what these other players and fans want their favorite players to do in the game. I still pick him as my best pg ever because in his prime he was torturing niggas. Its not all bad

I would trade Wiggins, Klay, JK and many picks to get something useful and of quality back. Also trade Kerr for someone that is going to stop putting out ridiculous formations. I would keep CP3 simply because you can cut his contract next summer and will be able to make have some options in the transfer market. And I remove Klay because the main 3 core is like a cancer of old guys where nobody else can thrive due to their egos. Politics more important than winning.

I think you're spot on about Steph's passing turnovers. The mentality that allows him to shoot the way he does also contributes to his tendency to whip off these daring passes. With shooting you accept that a certain percentage will miss. With passing, you can't accept anywhere near the same percentage resulting in turnovers.

No … when address addiction you have to address all its triggers .. so remove Chris Early, Detroit - Incrediboy Mike Dunleavy always seemed like an ass - a pretentious Duke’e … I hope he coldly does what needs to be done .. Paul and one of the Big 3 take your pick not named Steph

steve kerr has to go no two ways about it

Honest question: Kerr or Kuminga? Are we going to continue letting him ruin high potential young players?

Offtopic K

Post game comments again had me more upset. Steph and Kerr acted like this was a regular loss. I don’t want Kerr to go because ultimately it’s a roster problem but he’s definitely made sure this is his last year here. He just constantly contradicts himself and has no long term vision.

GSW vs ORL: JK 35 min = win

Evan Palmer

Keeping JK and Podz off the court in the final six minutes was horrible coaching. The two were amazing It’s a shame JK and Moody will want to leave but who can blame them, they play well. Then Kerr sits them and plays veterans who keep loosing. 18 points up with six minutes and we loose Green s return will not save team Saric plays like a champion Why CP in last minutes. Horrible

Joseph Mayen

Troy Murphy woulda been the next Jokic in 2020

I think so just like brad Stevenson

i can’t remember a team in the league with this many bad losses in the season. like seriously we might set the record for the number of contenders for worse lose in the season. never felt like we were true contenders this year but it honestly feels sad watching them bc they actually think they are. still felt we might make the play-in but at this point even that doesn’t look realistic. and as for the kuminga news, it’s not surprising, they’ve mishandled that from the start. no way they could’ve not used the picks on kuminga and wiseman, but it should’ve been clear that they were the direction we were going towards. even after the chip, that should’ve been where they said “okay great you proved everyone wrong, time for the future.” kuminga might be the first rookie to not extend with the team and move on elsewhere, how could he seriously want to stay.

7:38 ayooo 😂😂😂 missing person PSA had me gone

Been waiting all day for this

Hopefully this is not a repeat of the Nellie / Chris Webber days when we sided with the coach. The league is way more athletic now, we need our best athletes out there. Also, when they went small in the championship years, it was Steph, Klay, Draymond, Andre, and Harrison Barnes. Are we saying that Wiggins and Kuminga are not close to Andre/Barnes? I mean, our defense clearly cannot get stops when it matters, especially if your best defensive players are not out there!

I heard the Warriors’s Joy was seen giving N Yokic a BJ

I knew we would lose, but your breakdowns always brighten up a warriors L for me. Appreciate you Unc!! Also did you see Podz try to son CP during free throws with 2 minutes left in the third??? Dude has some Poole similarities the more I watch him it’s hilarious!
