Thanks for this Alch! I am going to the Super Bowl so I'm even more amped to get a win. I've thought this for some time but our Oline is our weak link. Trent's a legend but the rest.. Ever notice that our open holes are usually more from Kittle, Juszczyk, and our receivers than our Line just moving the line of scrimmage. Our skill positions will need to overcome that as they usually do but Detroit is hot, thank god we are home. And great insight on Chase Young, he isn't what I thought he would be so far.

He's played significantly better this year and we havent faced them at all since they went on their win streak which should be longer if they dont get robbed against the Cowboys. Im actually pretty confident in our offense. Its our defense that Im worried about. If Im the Lions OC, I target Ambry Thomas every single time and force the 49ers to overhelp or hide him. Then immediately attack whatever part of the field they vacate to make up for him.

2024-01-23 05:21:51 +0000 UTCLook at it like this…Jared Goff is 1-7 vs 49ers in his career. He consistently plays worse on the road and he’s even worse when not playing in a dome. This game stacks in the Niners favor in so many ways. Deebo status is up in the air so the game plan on offense won’t be centered around him like it was when we lost him vs the packers. Brock and Shanahan will be better.

2024-01-23 03:58:12 +0000 UTCThank you for this!!!! Im extremely nervous about the Lions game because I do NOT trust our secondary to matchup well vs. Lions offense. Ambry Thomas is a go-to for QBs because its either a 40 yard pass play or penalty every single time. Our run defense is also concerning cuz we couldnt stop the Packers when they wanted to run. And ZERO sacks is annoying. Fact is, I dont trust our defense at all. Greenlaw made the plays when it mattered, but its not like either of those INTs were forced. Jordan Love had two awful throws that we thankfully made him pay for. But Goff wont make those same mistakes. This game will be a shootout and we need to punish Detroits defense. I think both teams will be scoring 27+ and I just pray we have the ball last. I dont want make a prediction because if Im being honest, I dont think the 49ers win this one for 2 main reasons: 1) our defense is a liability right now and I dont expect them to create a TO rather than just capitalize off a mistake and 2) our special teams is also a liability. Throw in the fact that the entire NFL world is rooting for the Lions (and Vegas), and the refs will be heavily incentivized to favor the Lions on any 50-50 calls. Im worried and I dont have a good gut feeling. But I know we have the talent to win it and I hope Im proven wrong.

But I feel like between some weird Kyle playcalling, Wilk's mid defensive schemes, our DEs regressing, Brock in tough weather, we'll need a little luck to make it to the SB and a LOT to go our way to win one this season

Until Kyle proves he can win a Superbowl, his coaching decisions in big games will continue to be questioned. Brock's going to have to solve the throwing issues in wet conditions if he wants a big contract. Plenty of QBs use gloves in wet conditions, it's just a matter of finding something he's comfortable throwing with. I expect Brock to get some custom designed gloves for wet weather conditions or even consider pivoting to gloves full time like Matt Ryan and Kurt Warner at the later stages of their career. The good news is there is no rain in the forecast for next weekend and the Superbowl will be played indoors. Let's hope Deebo can get back out there for next week as well. The Lions are a tough matchup, they have an excellent offensive line/running game combination.

I thought the whole game they were just playing harder and they were that classic team gets hot and Jones comes back, Love looks really good and playing with a. lot of confidence. The -10.5 line to start the game was wayyyyyy too high even before there was a snap. Can we expect a better game against Detroit you think? Weather looks clear and all reports showing Deebo will be on the field.
