You know when they start yapping when it's over, they don't really have confidence in themselves. Think Luka commented that same shit in NBA recently about the Suns or smth.

Also I see your point. If u could just get her to override her coaches some and have your daughter say to a couple team mates pre game, "If your man slides to me go back door, Tina u crash right behind, both of u be ready.."

About the Super Bowl, I was there and didn't even know how Greenlaw got hurt, so much harder to see the details when you are at the game. Of course it would have been epic if we won but it was crushing to lose in that way. My takeaway is if u look back on past Superbowls how many times has the clearly better QB lost the game? I'll bet it's very few. The crowd was definitely pro Niners, a lot of guys took their wives and the girls ended up doing the Aisle pageant for the entire game. One 23 year old girl from our group started counting trips for our section and she had over 8 girls making more than 10 aisle runs. They stay out for about 15-20 min. each run. What a total waste of a massive ticket price, they all stayed seated for the half time show she noticed.. Goes to show the lengths we go to to get some.

she tired of my voice when it comes to hoops at this point. She is a coaches kid and the youngest of 3, so she doesn't go off script.. not an alpha. the problem is the coach is a "we do what we do" philosophy and it has become super predictable. She won region player of year last night. will see if they make adjustment in tonight's playoff game

Alch, have you tried telling your daughter that you trust her judgement and what does she think will counteract the double teams? Start the conversation that way. Unfortunate when her coaches don't seem to know the counters. She may also be feeling a lot of pressure knowing how into her hoops you are, that can be hard for kids. I know when I was playing in high school, I didn't want my Dad coming to the games, because he would focus on whatever I wasn't doing well, my friends would focus on what I was doing well, a hell of a lot more fun just listening to your friends at that age.

Chiefs and Mahomes gotta be the closest thing to warriors and Steph in this modern sports era. The inevitability just gives you that dread. Give them a chance and they’re taking the game away.
I understand why everyone hates the warriors so much now 😂 not fun being on this side. Raiders fan pulling hard for the niners bc fuck the chiefs but man… can’t even hate on them at this point

Would have been happy if Purdy got the chip but I'm also happy that Mahomes got to add to his legacy

All good on the no breakdown, was pissed off that all the bars in SF still had coverage on after we lost. Honestly, the team played as well as you coulda hoped for a big game, the Chiefs just made more plays than we did. No ref shenanigans for the most part and cheeky foul-baiting by Mahomes which was nice.
Kyle seems like he's on the Reid train where he can't get over the hump...hopefully he does in SF or we move on at some point.

100% best comparison. Once mahomes got the ball back for the last possession, i knew it was inevitable, but i literally dropped to the floor when i saw that last throw for an untouched TD.

It was one of the most draining 5 hours of my entire life... You don't need to do the breakdown Alch its all good. At the end of the day, you just need to come back to the fact that its just a game, only our fandom has been shattered. I still enjoy analyzing the game of football just for the fact that it's so complex. My takeaways from the game are:
1. Kyle got outcoached once again, too many free hitters zeroing in on Brock and plays taking too long to develop. The one time he had a check-down to CMC, he gained like 20+ yards. Both their safeties played 10 yards deep, not respecting our ability to take a deep shot. Kittle was taken out and they trusted their corners to play 1v1 vs Aiyuk & Deebo. Mad respect to KC's starting corners DcDuffie and Snead, arguably the best CB duo in the game.
2. Kittle had a toe injury after the Detroit game, I don't think it was ever fully healed. I also think practicing on that soggy field at UNLV did us no favors, may have been a factor for that Greenlaw injury and Deebo injury.
3. You mentioned not sticking with the run game, that early CMC fumbled probably made him second-guess himself.
4. Way too many self-inflicted wounds throughout the game, from the CMC fumble to the muffed punt and all the false start penalties stalling out drives. Their best players performed while ours did not.
Finally, I still believe in Brock but the only way for him to evolve as a player is for Kyle to put more trust into his ability to alter plays at the line of scrimmage. The only options he have are a) "Oscar", which is to flip the play (ex. run left to run right), or b) "Kill", which is to switch to an alternate backup play. That's not enough options for Purdy, especially if there's a blitz and free runners are coming in. He needs to have the ability to call a check-down. Maybe Purdy needs to grow a pair and stand up to Kyle. Tell him to his face that this shit ain't working. Kyle needs to be challenged, its the only for him to get over these mistakes. The pressure is only going to add for Kyle from here on out. It's not going to get any easier for him as a coach. Everyone knows he can perform in the regular season but its the playoffs where he consistently overthinks every decision. Until he proves he can win the big game, the doubts on his decision-making will forever remain.

I feel like it's a bit of therapy to be able to speak about our emotions on it, like you did, and for us to listen, because all us niner fans are in the same boat. Completely agree that breaking the game down just can't happen, it would just make things feel worse.

Appreciate you, Alch. And don't blame you at all for wanting to keep the Niners separate from this job.
I've got such an emotional hangover rn. As disappointed & sick about the result as I am, I just want to give some love to the team for battling so hard. There were many maddening mistakes but they gave KC a dogfight. Zero desire to point fingers right now, just commiserate and hope the hurt guys can completely heal up.

I ended up watching. To your point about it being a job vs being a fan. I think it's been easier to cover Warriors failures in the post season because we've already reached the top several times. Those wins carry us.. just the fact that football is such a different sport, and the niners still not able to get back to the top. The way the game played out and literally coming to within a stopping a single possession of winning it all. Aging players and the adjustments that other teams will make next season. I fear that we won't see the niners back here for decades.
