Dale - I think it's very true. I think it's reflected in the numbers, and in the decisions of the coaching staff that knows him best. Kerr's job is not to give JK what JK wants, or even what is best for JK. Kerr's job is to win basketball games for the Warriors, and team that uses a highly collaborative motion offense based on quick cuts, screens and decision making. Kuminga is a player on that team who is paid (a lot) to make the team successful, not demand that they cater to his (at this point more limited) skill set and style. And if, as you say, he faked an illness to cause the team to lose to demonstrate his value, then - far from defending someone who sabotaged the team for their own benefit, which you seem to be doing - I would shoot that guy into the sun and get him off my team ASAP. I am already suspicious that he's trying to Aiyuk our team. I want none of that near the team. And your example of Klay is apt, but you seem to put the malfunctioning player's personal interests over the team. That's NOT a way to win a chip. It's internally inconsistent. Maybe it's true that JK is just not able to adapt his skill set to the Warriors' playstyle. But I don't think that's true. It's a mindset to get back into the play and rebound. It's a choice to run back on defense instead of complaining to the refs. I think JK is capable of adapting. I think he is making selfish choices on and off the court. And, honestly, I think his skill is limited, so far. He's a bad off-ball defender and a flawed on-ball defender (Alch correctly points out the weird, terrible angles he takes on-ball, and how he pointlessly tries to crowd good ball-handlers way too high). He has terrible ball security and his handle only serves when he's unguarded and during some of his slashes to the rim. Otherwise, he's a huge TO risk whenever he's holding the ball. Anyhow - I hope you're right and that JK takes a big leap and becomes that #2 we need. But he hasn't, and it's not because he hasn't been given opportunity to succeed by the Warriors.

Whenever you take someone out of their element they will never be able to give you their best. Take a fish out oulf water and how well does he swim. Take a plant out of the ground .... GSW is not being honest. The bottom line it is in their interest to keep JK market value down. Coming off the bench gets paid significantly less than starting even if your minutes are significantly more. That's why Klay would not let them do it to him. The three shots in the first quarter were def unacceptable tho. It’s a real balancing act between not forcing things and getting the shots you want.

He missed two layups that he normally makes, created an open corner 3 for Dray but he missed, drove and passed to Looney but Loon couldn't finish, and drove again and passed the Dray in the corner but Draymond was out of position. I think with more reps he can get better. Lots of good signs against a very good defence

I heard an analyst say what I been saying. With JK talent just let him ball and everyone else adjust. Steph surely would benefit from JK taking the load. We know everyone listens to Steph but maybe he starting to listen to Draymond again. From what I could tell he confided in Klay, CP3 and Dray b4 but the punch knocked Dray out leaving only Step this season. I could tell he don't trust Kerr at all. Buddy would be a good one for him to trust. They have similar motors. Interesting the 3 with the biggest motors are the team top scorers. Hmmm!

He knows exactly how to guard and defensively anticipate modern offensive-minded young players while also leading those kinds of players offensively. Seeing Pat Spencer play was awesome (he's good) but he's just another connector type that Steve Kerr likes. The best thing from all that though? Steve Kerr unleashed a white-on-white PG pissing contest which I KNOW is gonna fire Podz up. It's a must that we change our offensive system to be more like other teams when Steph is off the floor. It sucks for nostalgia, but it's the only way to unlock our young talent. You keep mentioning how JK would thrive in a 5-out situation like Brooklyn but Podz is the best kind of poor man's Brunson/SGA/Luka type player to make that happen. Along with Wiggins, Draymond/Slo-mo and a Hield/Moody/Lindy spacer, we have the 5-out dream for Kuminga to score 25+ in. We saw it in that 3rd quarter last night. Steph sitting out makes SO many things clear for how we're supposed to play for at least the next 4-5 years.

Anyone hating on Kerr constantly is over rating our talent and not realizing how bereft of actual pure shot creating talent we are.

I'd honestly be totally fine with going for Cam Johnson, and if we could get Nic Claxton too that would be the dream. If Podz doesn't improve or his limitations aren't something we can live with, it looks like Pat Spencer could be our Plan B there, which is nice to know. Hell, I wouldn't be opposed to adding Podz into that trade if it was needed to make it happen. We slot Cam into Lindy's starting spot, move Lindy to an off the bench role, and have Pat Spencer as a backup PG.
