Said it a million times and I’ll say it again. We brought on Schroeder as an ultra quick PnR ball handling SCORER and Steve Kerr continues to want to shove him into a motion offense PG. like what the actual fuck? When Steph sits, it should be spamming Schroeder PnRs and DHOs every single possession and let Schroeder cook. It is unbelievable how stupid and hardheaded Kerr is to not use Schroeder for WHAT MADE US WANT HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!
Insane. Whatever. We all saw the blowout coming. So the last thing I’ll say on that is yeah Buddy needs to just go. Even with Moody’s recent improvement, I’d be interested to see what trades we can make if Moody is a part of the package.
Finally, Post looked lowkey nice. Against an ultra athletic big that can jump all over him? Yeah it’ll probably look rough. But his serviceable, high effort defense and confident shooting made me really like watching him out there. I’d rather tank and have 20+ mins of Post and Pat Spencer than roll out an injured Steph just to get beat down by 40.

I hate to say it but I don't think Kerr has it in him to give Post minutes. Too out of character. Even with nothing to lose.

I'm pretty sure I would have taken Plowden over either Lindy or Buddy, I'm really waiting to find out the story behind why they let him walk... sheer incompetence, or was he like a secret a-hole behind the scenes? Or...

They give a combined 25 points, but they also provide important defense. So, maybe not really overpaid. There's just probably some disappointment in that Wigs is just never gonna be your first or second leader on a title team. He is just not THAT GUY.

I accepted the fact that we are done. Steph should be a sixth man and preserve him for next several seasons. Youth we have some good supporting piece but lacking a Superstar young stars who can score. JK can be a 2nd star but not the Alpha. Even we had Jordan Poole before, but he is too trash in D or basketball IQ. Get Zion in my opinion, if we lucky, he can lead us into a new era to compete. Worse come to worse, we still get some trade value and he is fun to watch.

Yeah. If only Poole was 29 years old it would be perfect. But our vets have made it clear they only rock with vets, and Poole was perfect prototype but wrong timing. Crazy how much of chemistry in the A is a respect thing

That game felt like a throwback to the pre-steph days, a team that plays hard but its obvious they dont have the talent or the mindset to do more than show some effort to a dominant opponent. The low ebbs keep getting lower and its frankly getting to be hard to watch.
The real sore thumb on this team currently seems to be the Buddy Hield acquisition. On paper he was a perfect fill in for an aging and disgruntled Klay but after his hot start he has been a full blown bust. And while I do love Lindy's vibe and grit, his shot seems to be on a milk carton somewhere deep south. At least he is sound fundamentally, which in Buddy's case.....ughh.
I agree that it feels like a crossroads for the direction of the franchise. They can wave the white flag, develop the youth, let Steph play spot minutes for the fans and spend the rest of the time modeling his Under Armour line while cheerleading from the sidelines. But knowing Lacob's mindset, I cant believe they wont try to improve the team. At this point its not building towards a championship, its simply building towards competitiveness and putting an entertaining product on the floor that fans will still want to invest their time and energy into. Right now its not even close.
I think the best move at this point in time is to keep what young talent they can and move some first rounders for veteran help. Of course the challenge is matching salaries. We'll know the answer within a couple weeks.

I would absolutely watch a "25 and younger" roster of Warriors competing to finish out the season, and see what they got.
We know what the old core has left, and that's not enough. And it won't be enough to finish strong or to compete next season.
This team needs to sell. Add some picks. Let the young guys play the last 2 months of the season, and then trade or fire Kerr this summer.
It's going to take time to rebuild this roster, but the only way to be good again is through future drafts.

We really miss Poole (2022 Poole lol). He was such a perfect fit. He had Schroeder's agility but only needed a crumb of space to get his shot off. DS had alot of good looks coming off of screens but just didnt take them. He knows Kerr dont really like those little middy's so he's trying too hard to fit in.
Once Curry goes off the floor.. they need to completely contort to Schroeder's playstyle and shot diet.

Agreed on the Tatum take. I think he's as good as he's ever been, but he's still in that PG realm for me where he's really good, but not quite top 5, and there's a few guys I'd still take over him.

Really missed Kuminga last night. They just forced switches onto our guards and that immediately sent us into scramble mode. With Kuminga and Draymond healthy... the game wouldve looked completely different from a matchup perspective
I think the upper management need to make Curry's thumb a "season ending injury" type of situation... kind of tank a little bit for a good pick. And make a big splash in the offseason. And make one final big run next year. When I look at the Nuggs.. Thunder.. Celts.. Cavs.. We dont stand a chance against those teams as currently constructed and there are no big moves available.

If they don't make a solid trade at deadline then Lacob is just a money man who wants to sell as many '30' shirts as possible before its over. He invested heavily before cuz he could see a path to victory; but if they don't start getting serious about adding pieces then it means he doesn't care to do what it takes to create a path to victory.

Appreciate your diligence to the breakdowns, Alc! That was a tough watch competitively.
But I gotta throw you a little friction on the Tatum shade! I think he's tier 1 and even tier zero when we talking about young players, man. I know it seems like Shai and Luka and the flashy young players are tier 1 but those guys are just the new Hardens, and that style of high usage is never gonna win them championships. To me, Tatum is the perfect superstar for a championship system and his career KINDA reminds me a certain lightskin 3pt shooter who was a perfect engine to a championship but didn't end up winning Finals MVP for a long time. It took some time for him to be the obvious alpha dog, but you just don't win big in this league without a steady guy like that.

Agreed on hiding Post with athletic guys. I think if Kuminga is out there they can do damage together, either they leave Post open for a 3 to help on Kuminga, or they let Kuminga attack the basket where he can finish or kick it to someone else open for a 3.

1. Looks like Tatum dabbed him up, but Brown str8 ignored him lol. Mad he ain't get selected I guess still lol.
2. More Post please. That's why they got him, stretch big that was 24 yrs old. Would love to see him alongside Dray when he comes back to see if it helps the offense and spacing etc.
3. Wigs was a no show. Jus not consistent offensively and will never be a 2 option in championship team. Need a number 2. Go get LaVine. Schoder and a mix of guys and a 1st gets him for sure. Don't have to give up our core either (JK, Podz, TJD)
4. Send Buddy to the end of the bench pls.
5. Curry looked so defeated, like he so tired of doing this for 3rd year in row now, he wants to compete and he losing motivation and Heart!

I definitely want to see more of Post. If you put him out there with our athletic players they can help hide his lack of mobility and he can completely open the floor for them when Steph is off the floor.
In regards to Dennis, Steve needs to do better. You alluded to it in this video, why are they running the Steph system when he is not on the court. Why is Kerr not playing to everyone's strengths, he is actively hurting the team!

Dig the spotlight on the kids and positives.
Big picture for the league, what would it look like for Steph to join the Celtics? Flame away, but would it not be an incredible ratings boost for the league if Steph requested this?
Or, say Celtics sputter out early this year…does Brown have any eyes to return to the bay, get outta one of the most racist cities I’ve ever been in? Tatum?
I wonder what the rest of the league wants for Steph to close out.

Personally, I just love to see the young guys gel and have fun. It’d be so much more interesting than beating a dead horse which is pretending to be a contender. With or without Steph Curry playing major minutes. He can rest more for next season. I like seeing Quentin Post grow his game at this level.
