One thing that needs to be studied is why his misses in particular almost always seem to end up in easy buckets on the other end. It's just him too that's consistently like this.

If he's a movement shooter, the system has worked great for Steph. If he's a spot up shooter, the system worked great for Klay. Don't scapegoat Kerr unless you can point to a specific thing Kerr did that has an effect. Be specific my man!

2025-01-29 23:43:34 +0000 UTCSomehow we love to look at the short picture and react emotionally. Draymond, Looney, and Kerr are the biggest reason for our record. We can flip flop on who having this or that game and who not all we want. It starts and ends with these 3. GSW need to part with one or two of them for a big man, any 6' 11" 220 lbs plus 2 man, if we want to salvage 30 opportunity to displace LBJ. That's why Steph don't get FTs and LBJ/AD gets all when they face off. The league has caught up with Kerr offence and he refuses to adjust. Buddy was brought in to be the volume 3 pter next to Steph but Kerr system don't allow that to happen. Buddy is an elite one or two dribble catch and shot player but Kerr ask of him don't allow for such. Everyone else are pass first shout second players which Kerr wants to feed Steph. You think he don't know the other teams knows this. We chap up Buddy but not no matter how bad Buddy shouts he still has constant gravity because opponents know he like Klay though not as assassin, can catch a fire any moment. Buddy don't have Klay don't care I going to let it fly attitude. I suggest Kerr plays Buddy so much because he is a good scape goat who hustles all over the court and takes at least one player with him on every possession. So if Steph takes 2 and Buddy 1 why 3 on 2 can't dominate. I put it to you Looney Dray and to a degree GPII don't scare and the rest are very inconsistent except for JK and Wiggs, the only two real slashers. We pass up layup to pass into missed 3pt shots. 👀 Go get Jonas and watch the floor open up. TJD, Jonas and Post is more than enough as 5 Wiggs, JK and Buddy are more than capable of consistently scoring 20 plus a night besides Steph 30. That's top 4 formular to me.

He's never had to play alongside Steph and probably hates Kerr's system so that doesn't make him actually like Klay but in spirit he's a shotchucker who has the utmost faith in his shot and he just needs to get opportunity and comfort to begin to play in the flow of other players. A quiet, shoot-first hooper who seems extremely competitive but just wants to be on a team long-term.

I wouldn’t mind seeing them try to move him in a deal at this point, he just doesn’t move the needle for me on either side of the ball and doesn’t feel like he has a very high ceiling even if things go super well for him given his physical attributes and current skill set.

That said it's unusual that such a skilled and creative big would be such a travesty 5 inches from the rim. it feels like a problem that he could adjust on and improve over night, but I think this hasn't got better since preseason going up against less serious competition. Shooting touch and finishing touch are very different skills
