If JK comes back and Post is still rolling, it's possible. We still need to do some addition by subtraction, if not getting rid of Buddy and Draymond completely, at least cutting their minutes big time.

Yes Alc I agree but they are professionals. They have muscle memory so to me it's all mental but it's free.
How do you have the number 1 FT% player on your team and we can't replicate his focus
FT are exactly that.
FREE!
But we cheat our process.

2025-02-01 01:52:18 +0000 UTC
True but outside of the two slashers, others are in the paint and never get the call. Steph gets fouled on just about every oick and roll or drive but seldom gets a call. No other Superstar gets that treatment and he is number 2 if not 1.
The point is all we have to do is draw more fouls and increase our FT% and we can play with the elite

its the ability to replicate your routine, in a empty gym its obviously way easier to do. thats why the routine itself is so important, can you repeat it with your heart rate sped up and your breathing up? the most common piece that falls apart is taking the beat to get the eyes on the rim. Guys routine gets sped up and they end up not getting their eyes to the basket in time.

Re Draymond in particular, it’s really a joke that after all the tomfoolery we’ve seen from everyone over the past couple seasons, the only people who’ve been publicly called out by Kerr are Podz & JK lol.

A low point for Kerr was earlier this season when he was bragging about yelling at Steph after a turnover. You go to the tape and he’s just kinda yelling to no one in the general vicinity of Steph 🤦🏿♂️
It’s the same thing my kids do when they want to express their disapproval but don’t want that smoke 😂

At least two points follow from the FTA analysis: 1)Wigs getting to the line signals a more dynamic offense and 2)JK, the only other player who's play style consistently generates opponent fouls and free throws, can be a big part of winning (by virtue of the points + by virtue of getting the opponent in foul trouble).
Point Gawd

tbh, even if he was on my team its still a hard sell for me. I watch the warriors because of the style of play. Shai's iso-ball style of play just isn't my thing. To each their own though i guess.

Alc consider the following if accurate.
Based on the statistical model generated by an associate,
"GSW needs at least 26 FTAs per game to have a 90%+ probability of winning all their games.
GSW must attempt 19 or fewer FTAs per game to have a 90%+ probability of losing all their games."
This suggests that free throw attempts are a significant factor in their success. We dont dismiss the impact of other factors like shooting efficiency, defense, and turnovers but when we consider GSW averages approximately 20 FTA per gm, this is telling why the mediocre record.
The question is considering these are professionals who can hit north of 80% in practice likely with their eyes closed, why?
1. The athlete crumble under extreme pressure
2. Poor coaching/team play style /individusl play design (match ups)
3. The Commisioner's 00 agents are manipulating the games FTA.
Something to consider.
Steph shoots 93.5% yet as a superstar he only gets 3.3 per gm.
At least 10 superstars gets more than double the FTAs per game and two of their teams have two superstars who each double his attempts.
Steph is 0.6 percentage points above average.
Why?
Surely he drives and gets contact much more times than his average.

😂 box of donuts. 100% facts you listed. Unfortunately, Bob Myers forced everyone including Kerr to get used to being disrespected, insulted, intimidated and assaulted by Draymond over the course of 10 years until it blew up and then Bob crawled out the back door. Kerr is literally afraid of Draymond so he runs lineups that, as you point out, benefit Draymond at the expense of the rest of the team. Kerr talks tough, but it's fake. I used to have a lot of respect for him until the pattern of kowtowing to Draymond became obvious. And he makes up stories on the fly to cover for it. Pretty sad and pathetic, but I blame Bob Myers. Lacob is utterly clueless.

Ways Dray hurts the team. Method 1 -- Hunting Steph, which makes everyone else less effective. Method 2 -- Reducing camaraderie, which makes many players tighter and less free flowing. Method 3 -- Podcasting in a way that gets teams even more up against the Dubs than they would be otherwise. Method 4 -- Making some players leave when a wiser approach would not have (example 1: KD. example 2: Jordan Poole). Method 5 -- Baiting and pontificating toward the refs which leads them to be more likely to see and call every single ticky-tack foul the Dubs commit while not seeing other teams' assault on Steph and other Dubs. . . . That's just the TOP 5 off the top of my head. Maybe they can find a way to trade Dray for a box of doughnuts and thus get some cap relief.

I mean... SGA has that Ja Morant-like "circus shot" game that can be fun to watch. If he's on your team I'm sure it's relatively easy to look past the constant soft whistle, even if it kinda ruins his game for the rest of us

That is the 2022 formula. The players aren’t standouts (beyond Steph and dray turned up) but somehow the Kerr chemistry comes together and they become more than their whole.
They just haven’t been able to be consistent for most of the season and so it’s in there but it’s just not always available.
Is this team better without Draymond now?

Looney has changed his free throw form. He used to swing his arms back before bringing them up to shoot. It created extra variability. But now, after taking a dribble, he stays still then just goes up to shoot. Consist. Every time.

Lost in all the annoyance at Kerrs obsession with small ball is the fact that honestly no one out small balls him. He's the only coach ever that has made a small ball team an actual threat in the playoffs and every time we meet another team that wants to play that way Steve seems to have their number no matter how much better their record is.

Wiggs’ finishing at the rim bag keeps growing, and thanks for spotlighting this rarity for a 10 year vet. I don’t remember this many determined shoulders to chests.
When “others” step up, this team can win against most anyone. Obviously the inconsistency is rough, especially energy levels. Seeing simultaneous dawg energy from Dennis, GPII, and Podz is a difference maker. Add JK & Dray to that, and they’re a tough out.
If we can keep Wiggs and JK, I’m in favor of LaVine. But I don’t see Dubs presenting the best package offer. Thoughts?

Im cool with giving Post all of TJDs minutes. The upside on him being more developed is much higher than TJD. I'd rather see the floor spaced for Wiggs, JK, Schroder, etc to drive and create for themselves than a congested 4v5 when teams sag off TJD due to his poor finishing.
