My apologies to those that wanted to relive another 4th quarter meltdown. I made a executive decision to go with a live stream instead.

Trade deadline lives stream 11 AM PST

I think it depends completely on where the Warriors end up at the end of the year. The injuries across the league this year have been crazy, could be a very unpredictable playoff series.

Irritated Inanimate

Agree that Jimmy knows that this is Steph’s house and Jimmy gets blamed if the team fails. He will do everything he can to keep that from happening.

Irritated Inanimate

Facts facts facts… I genuinely think you maybe could’ve flipped him to the heat… have him defensively along side Bam and talked them into it But yeah it’s getting to the point where no one wants our players… 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Ben D

I'm also on the "ship Dray" train, but we have to look at the reality of it -- who WANTS him?

Neal X

This is all very difficult…and I think its much deeper than the specific trade. Its just watching this slow, taffy-like stretching of a “dynasty” in its death-throws…I mean, I think every one of us has to admit: the moment Klay Thompson thinks he needs to leave the Bay the beautiful thing we all got to witness and be a part of was finally, completely, over. Honestly, I remember watching the Raptor series, after the whole Draymond blow up with KD, etc., and feeling in my bones: its over….this is the end. Instead of “doing something for Steph” the only true future is to embrace the future, build a culture and a team that loves playing basketball together, plays its heart out, plays smart, etc. It has to become a place young players and new players want to come and play and live and NOT only players that fit into some kind of “Steph” based system…every other thing is a king “Frankenstein” act: piecing together human body parts to try to make something dead “alive.”…And I write all this actually considering Jimmy Butler one of the greatest to ever do it, singlehandedly dragging a mediocre talented group to the FINALS twice in the last five years?!? He’s one of the greatest NBA competitors ever to lace up his shoes…

Patrick Kennedy

I like these streams. Good idea hearing the thoughts of the fan base family from here. Thanks

Calum Stapleton

Im honestly ok with the trade. I wasn’t excited and had the same reaction as most because I didn’t want jimmy and the extension certainly complicates roster building. And ideally in a world where kuminga and wiggs had the same contract I would’ve love to keep wiggs instead. This is a gamble on a lot of levels but I feel like a motivated and bought in jimmy can light a fire on this team to improve and perhaps elevate some of the younger talent. It’s just something different, and it’s done so no point in thinking about what ifs

Ken Bradford

The issue is that Wiggs was beloved and performing very well, and we didn't solve our size issues with getting him, we couldn't land Vucevic or Lavine or any guy to play the 4 or 5 for us. We're still stuck with Buddy Hield. We in fact gave UP size in losing Kyle Anderson. So in other words, Jimmy better live up to his damn nickname for this to be worth it.

Neal X

So i know we're screwed and even with JK and butler back (eventually) have roster gaps. And that kerr will keep playing buddy no matter how many times he turns the ball over. But still curious to hear thoughts on the best remaining lineup while we savor the minute hope that kerr will do something smarter for a change. Maybe there's something that could work with gui instead of hield as the shooting threat in the starting lineup that actually lets us compete defensively too.

B Master

I loved Wiggins. And I am not here to talk stats, but putting a motivated Jimmy Butler on this team is an obvious upgrade. He's better than Wiggins, just is

Jim

But is he willing to stay? Where does he fit now? And if he was chafing with Kerr and Dray in his ear, how much more fun is it going to be with Jimmy Butler also in the mix--yet another "Do as I say, not as I do" veteran voice. I say JK is gone by the end of this summer's free agency. Even if the Dubs *can* technically re-sign him, is Lacob going to be willing to do it with a team that's still going to be stuck, at best, in the play-in for two more years?

Point Gawd

I don't think we gave up "little" when Wiggins was the one traded. Love him! And wish him well...

MarieMarie Bekele

JK, Dray, Jimmy, GPII all get time on Luka, agreed? Please match Podz up and down my (short) list and let me know your thoughts. I hope he gets there, but I don’t see it yet, not nearly at the level of Wiggs, Melton, or Shröder, especially against quickness.

Chip Tingle

I’m surprised there isn’t slightly more positivity about the Jimmy move on here so I’m going to do my best to lift the mood a little (and maybe you can at least enjoy roasting me!). Steph needed help, even if most of us would’ve preferred a different player. But if you told me last summer that we were trading for Butler - and giving up so little - I would have been amazed. There was a lot of excitement about PG, but he may have cost Kuminga / more assets, and his contract is worse than Jimmy’s extension (1 more yr, PO). KD or LeBron would also have cost Wiggs, Kuminga and multiple picks (or maybe Draymond) and they don’t want to be in the Bay anyway. All that is to say that I’m not sure we could’ve realistically traded for a better player (and specifically playoff performer), for as cheap a price, that fits Steph’s timeline. Who else was there? KAT? Lauri? BI/Zion? Fox? Bridges? None of them have ever come close to this: Click ‘Expand all Leaderboards’: https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/NBA_2023_leaders.html In the 2023 playoffs, Jimmy was the best player not called Jokic. He finished 4th in PE, 2nd in win shares and 2nd in VORP. In 2022, he finished 2nd in PER, 1st in win shares and box +/-, and 1st in VORP. He’s also a playmaker and a free throws, steals, minutes and ‘tough-twos’ machine. Wiggins was great, but even 2-way, 2022 playoff Wiggs wasn’t hitting these heights. Sure the spacing now looks clunky, the potential for a meltdown and/or Draymond KO is high, but the opportunity cost seems reasonably low. I know it’s an expensive extension, but it expires at just the right time. Jimmy comes off the books just as Shai hits free agency and Joker and Giannis have player options. Of course they could all extend before then, but they are all in small markets and may all have won at least one title for their teams by then.. Even if you can’t dump Jimmy’s expiring deal at the preceding deadline for one of these MVPs, that summer we should be targeting max cap space. Depending on retirements / hometown discounts, other roster moves and the projected cap, we might even have space for two max contracts in 2027 offseason. I am excited to see what Jimmy and this FO can do next.

Stephen Jones

Was really hoping it was draymond in the deal and not wiggs… I think having Wiggs play the 3 and butler at the 2 would’ve helped Steph more… this would’ve allowed Kuminga to grow into being a true number 4 and play in the paint Not sure why they always keep draymond… he just puts up 6 5 and 5 now with a tech

Ben D

Williams is a bouncy roll man who puts pressure on the rim, is an adequate finisher (especially compared to TJD who we know is one of the worst finishers on the team), and can set decent screens. No hes not a shooting big you're right, but he wouldve been a cheap upgrade over TJD who doesnt even play anymore. The bigger point of me bringing up Williams is to emphasize the fact that the FO is dumb as shit. They're talking about how "trades are hard" and deals keep "falling apart", while simultaneously letting other teams get better with cheap trades like the Williams one, and REFUSING to let go of players like Podz or Moody. Surely we couldve put a package of Podz++TJD/Moody+a pick for SOMEONE better than TJD???? Doesnt matter. They made one move that arguably (in my opinion, definitely) made the team worse. Doesnt fix a single problem with this team as we are STILL tiny and old.

Jansen E

Alc those are not melt downs but Coaches throwing the game by the 3 or 4 guard lineups they insist on playing during those "meltdowns". I have looked at a few games but notbonce have I found a high tier lineup loosing 10 or more point leads. It seems like Kerr does this every year before the Trade Deadline then after they ramp up. Sad part is Kerr don't understand over the last 2 years thatbwe did not have the talent to bounce back but this trade moves the needle significantly and puts usbback in the mix. Sure getting Jonas or Vuc would have given us great confidence but could it be the front office is holding back to do so this summer? Two glaring problems we had. FTAs and Clutch play. Jimmy does both well and there is no more contracts for him so no need for another temper tangent. Now he has his best opportunity to win a chip if we dont it will be on him. I don't believe he will allow that to be his fault. He ain't going to ride out not giving it his all. That's what I believe.

Dale Happy Knowles

I understand the jImmy frustration although I’m trying to stay positive 😝 As for Williams he’s a gigantic oaf who can’t protect the rim and has never taken a 3 pointer so I’m glad we didn’t overpay for him. A 1st, a swap and LA’s best rookie should’ve been enough for Kessler (if it wasn’t for Ainge!).

Stephen Jones

I’m fine with it, if the front office didn’t sit stagnant for 3 years they wouldn’t have felt the need to do this, mainly because you’d have been moving in the right direction for once and you’d not have been in such a bad position. So I say if they get burned on this deal it’s still a win, because doing nothing gets you nothing, much like their young guys though you should have taking these lumps earlier to figure out the best way to use those assets over the years, you certainly never let them EXIRE. Spilled milk now. What I do have a problem with? MORE WASTED EXPIRING CONTRACTS

Sarcasm 360

Steph be shooting us out of games early and then expecting us to exalt him when he shoots us back in late. What a time

yan't get right

He may yet be traded but the current solution presumably is GP2. Podz defends Harden well and you might be able to get away with a bigger player on Luka (Kyle Anderson has fared well in the past on Luka)

Stephen Jones

Since we drafted Kuminga we have his bird rights to sign him for whatever

KuraiT

Who guards PG’s? Who guards Luka, Fox, SGA, Murray, Kyrie, Harden…?

Chip Tingle

The worst part is the Lakers were just handed a top five player for so little in return.

Mike Gonzalez

Biggest Issue I See is how we would afford JK in the Summer. No cap available so we eventually also gave away JK Right? Am I missing something Alch?

Bensation

So that’s it….jimmy was the only move mannnnn I’m done with this season zero confidence still no big man how tf my team turn into a joke like this smh

Noah Bailey

How do Steph+Dray+Jimmy+JK close games together? They don't ... they'd better be winning in blowout fashion because that spacing in crunch time would be diabolical with that group.

AK

I'm honestly at the point I'm hoping for a meltdown and going 11-22 for better draft positioning. That defense was unbelievably atrocious without Wigs and Schroeder last night

KuraiT

Great stream Alch! For the record, the echo button *did* seem to fix the echo issues later in the stream.

Wilco

AARP Dubs? POA D? Ball/player movement & .5 Hoops gone? Steph/Dray/Jimmy/JK play good O together? Podz enough PG to get Steph off ball more? Just heard “need to go 22-11 to win 46 games”!!! I’m less than optimistic, even less than before this move.

Chip Tingle

Is it fair to say that JK’s next contract is now riding on Quinten Post’s 3?

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Ugh, I took the dog for a walk when we were up 10. No confidence in the closing lineup minus Wiggs and JK. Totally unsurprised that the vets (and Kerr, I assume) threw it away, but I was looking forward to your rant about it. The only thing Jimmy brings is the ability to close out crap teams in close games. If healthy. In related news, the dubs have now acquired the "If Healthy®" tagline from the LAC for cash considerations.

Mike Peterson

I see PBJ went to Spurs for cash

Allison Hendrix

Tf are they doing

Jared Cole

Jesus. So now kerr is going to keep playing Buddy and we're just gonna lose no matter who else is on the roster.

B Master

Sorry Alc I couldn't speak. (Alex)

Alex Kay

This whole month has been terrible over-reactions. We started really falling apart when Kuminga went down and we lost sight of how it will look when he gets back. We needed some help but right now it looks like just Jimmy and no real effort to help with a big, so what's the point... We needed a few more role players and to take a gamble on Kuminga; not throwing away our culture and spirit and depth with half-baked last minute trades.

B Master

Yo Unc that feedback on the audio is nasty work lol

Enzo Cree

Tell him to take it off speaker

Gerald Seals

His mic has a huge echo

Gerald Seals

my guy needs some head phones... echo echo echo

Mikel anthony

we've got 50 minutes bruh! I'm super sad to see Wiggins go man. I hope it works out for the best. Steve Kerrs spoke it perfectly. I felt that.

Mikel anthony

Dont get why tjd is still on the squad

Slim J

PLEASE ONE MORE TRADE

Slim J

Need to make one trade gotta get rid of buddy hield

Slim J

JIMMY FOREVER

Jim

Crash out on Jimmy asap lol

Enzo Cree

ALCH!

Ehren Muehlenbruch

Tapping in early

Enzo Cree

Good choice I don’t think it would be healthy for me to have to ponder on how much Steve Kerr touched himself to the idea of playing all of 1 true wing player to go small ball with BUDDY HIELD AT THE 3

Sarcasm 360

Loud and clear

JoeyD

Sounds good

Ian Bassett

I didnt get home til about 9pm last night and I was so caught up in the Jimmy news that I forgot about the game. Then I realized these motherfuckers lost to the UTAH JAZZ with a 10pt lead with 2 minutes to go. Hahahaha. And getting rid of Wiggins and Schroeder is supposed to make that better? This is the FOs answer to late game collapses, rookie-level turnovers from the vets, and insanely stupid coaching from Kerr: Jimmy Butler. Draymond still is a liability. I dont care how many "vintage" games he has. He still puts too much pressure on Steph and kills the offense. Kerr barely knew how to use a player like Schroder, and now we're gonna expect him to know how to use Jimmy? We're paying this dude 60 mil when he's older and more broken down than Steph???? I cant express how much I hate this trade. After Lavine fell through, I would've preferred if they had done nothing. FO: "But no bigs are available?!?!" I'm sorry. Did the Lakers get YET ANOTHER young, athletic big from Charlotte? We would've traded TJD, and a pick for Mark Williams and he instantly wouldve been better. TJD has done nothing this season but regress. Im just so mad about all of this. The FO complaining no one will trade with them. Then calling players like Podz untouchable. How tf do you let the Lakers get Mark Williams????? Youre telling me we couldnt have gone after him????? Just disgusted right now
