I think both of those are good theories and both are worth the trade off. QP gives us something we've needed for SO LONG. Opposing teams KNOW he's a shooter go he gives us gravity and spacing whether he's hitting that night or not. And the unexpectedly plus defense has been one of the only lucky breaks we've gotten this season.

Im glad u said it… 8:47 with Draymond out, the offense just flows better.so keep him out, less turnovers. Less predictable offense.

Melton not hitting a ton of shots and still being a huge net positive on the team tells you all you need to know about the value of him as a player

With how much Kerr always mentions "the numbers" and whether they support this or that, I'm going to assume that using their almighty analytics the Warriors are well aware of Draymond's stultifying effect on the offense. Both Kerr and Dunleavy Jr. have talked about just limiting turnovers to compensate, but I think behind the scenes they know that's only making the best of an overall bad situation. Draymond's floor game is what it is -- it's just like Kuminga in a way. He's going to play the way he wants to play at the end of the day.

We actually not short of players in any position, if Kerr will play them properly. I hope we get a 1st round protected pick for “JK+Buddy”. We need Kerr to play AL and Gui, less Green .

agreed, I didn't like what I've seen from Gafford.
Naji would be a nice addition but I believe PJ is not eligible to be traded this season b/c of his recent extension.

Wish I could "heart" this a million times. Refs are human. They've lost all patience with Dray. Research has repeatedly shown that when an observer dislikes someone the observer literally SEES DIFFERENT THINGS when something happens than does a person who has no hostility. So, in their own understanding the refs aren't biased. What they don't realize is that their eyes ARE biased--the ref literally just does not see the Dubs uniforms the way someone uninfluenced by Dray's childish behavior does. Unfortunately, such blindness is hard to get rid of. So, it'll be a few years after he retires or leaves before the Dubs'll have any hope of that dissipating enough--or for a large enough number of refs to be replaced through retirement--for the Dubs to hope for a consistently fair whistle.

This game felt really Christmas-y to me after AD went down and especially in the second half. Some rubber band calls, some eggnoged vets, and it ultimately felt like the better teamed paced themselves all the way to the end and juiced it a little at the finish line. Main takeaway for me was Trace outplaying Gafford. I like Gafford a lot but TJD is looking good against his comps the same way post was looking better than Vooch last year.
I also got to watch nba on Christmas Day with the folks, so I got to hear the Mom takes. She’s out on Melton and thinks he’s a walking brick who won’t pass. He had a pretty decent game, so I could back up my belief in him, but I do think the search for his shot needs to bear some fruit sooner rather than later. Who knows what’s going to happen with all these guards. It feels like only one of them can shoot 40% from 3 a month.
Last note is that the Nuggets are box office on Christmas. Between taking down Anta Claus this year, and the Aaron Gordon double OT posterizer game winner last year Joker and the squad are looking seriously jolly.

Steph was actually PHENOMENAL in this game when it came to on ball chance creation, chaos and gravity. The warriors won this game primarily because Steph created so many easy shots at the basket, even though his long ball wasn't dropping. Merry Christmas Alc!

My theory for our bad calls is Draymond. The refs all hate him so it trickles to Steph and everyone else. Also, the offense undeniably looks better without Draymond. Partly because his replacement will be a threat to score and also because they wont attempt as many high risk passes as him. That seems to be the only pass Dray looks for now.

Could QP’s slippage in shooting be partly due to how much effort he’s exerting on the defensive end? Maybe it’s just a conditioning thing? Someone on Dubs twitter shared that he’s already exceeded or is rapidly nearing the total amount of minutes played this season that he did last year.

Alch I absolutely love how you break down shot mechanics/issues for players even outside of the team. Adds a little something to these breakdowns cause I can yell you do it for the love of the game. I wonder if any players have ever seen your comments and made adjustments. I'd imagine at least 1 or 2.

Notes from the game:
QP struggling from 3pt line. He’s definitely in a shooting slump.
BP is defensively our weakest link which Mavs frequently target. Offensively he’s ok but on defense he’s a traffic cone.
We look much better on the floor with our bigs (AH & TJD) instead of 4 guard lineup with DG at the 5.
With DG as our main facilitator our offense is stagnant, clueless and turnover prone.
If AH and DAM can hit their 3pt shots I like our chances against any team.
Great game for DAM.
We are just not good 3 pt shooting team. 12/45 so far. Miracle we still have a lead.
Win is a win. Besides low turnovers I didn’t see much improvement from previous games. No trade will put us into contention.
