A Map of the Stars - Chapter 1: A Box on Wheels

Hey everyone! Here is the start to my first web novel! I'm allowing this first chapter to be free for all as a way of getting people into the story! Future postings will be given a week early for those that pay $3 or more, while everyone paying under that will STILL get the story, just a week later than those who pay more.

Feedback is very much appreciated! Knowing if people like how the story is going is a great thing for me as an author.

This chapter is more of an introduction to the story! The majority of the TF is not happening in this section.

Some content warnings! This is not a story heavy with kink, and I want to keep it that way. The first poll people voted for was a SFW, more wholesome kind of story and while I feel like a bit of the wholesome-ness has been lost, I want to reiterate that this story is going to be something I put more effort into story and plot, rather than how most people normally know me with how much effort I usually put into kink.

This story is for more mature audiences. Depictions of animal death, heavy issues like self-esteem, the state of the environment, and more depressing content will be found even in this first chapter. I promise some things will be happier, but as I'm wanting to create a story that can stand on its own. There will be some sad parts as well.

Imagine this simply as a novel you've picked up from a shelf that just *happens* to have skunk transformation, and transformational vibes. Just as a warning, since these novels can often go to places and beyond from where they start, if there would EVER happen to be some kind of sexual content or however, it would not be to the in depth detail of my usual stuff.

Imagine this novel as something I'm trying to give to publishers! That's how I'm writing this, along with the wonder of something fantastical like a story like this would be.

I plan on releasing about a chapter a week, meaning those spending $1 a month, will get at least 6 stories every month, just a dollar!

A Map of the Stars is about a down-on-his-luck man going through the motions in life, looking for a change to how the surroundings of his world have become. In a situation of extreme ill-fortune, our character, Spencer Percula, is infused with an ancient power that no human has ever witnessed, or at least those who were able to keep their humanity. In a new world, with a new body without thumbs, can Spencer navigate the intricacies of a land hidden from the dominant species? Will he be able to turn himself back? Or are the forces that be influential enough at making sure the new animal will never have a chance at becoming a human again, whether he wanted to or not?

Obviously as this is an on-running series, details can change, but I'll never try to retcon anything written in previous issues unless I'm that helpless in what to do next. I have spent a few days making sure of a plot that'll hopefully work.
