Dropping Out - ***UNEDITED***
Added 2024-09-12 03:19:44 +0000 UTCHey everyone! I thought this would be a fun addition to show you all how my new setup works with using voice to text in order to write these days. I drive for work and long stretches of boring highway allow me to get done with a lot more words than I usually might while behind a keyboard. Although I do find it easier to think of what to do next with a keyboard.
But with using voice, comes HUGE amounts of editing that needs to be done. I believe the PDF here is going to be quite the surprise for most of you.
Here's a little guide, and I just wonder how many of you might actually find enjoyment in this story when it isn't edited.
When you see "Paragraph." that means I'm marking later that this place will be the start of a new paragraph. I put the period, which is me saying period haha, because it makes the next word capitalized which will save me time. When the story is done, I just replace all "Paragraph." with "Paragraph" since now it's easier to select, and I just go through and manually make them new paragraphs.
When you see "Dialogue." that means pretty much the same thing. I want quotation marks there, and sometimes the system will register the quotation mark but often times it doesn't. Plus this is much more obvious than something like this " which could be harder to see.
When you see a word spelled out like "w h i n e" that means the system just didn't give me the exact word I wanted or it kept putting another word because of the way I was saying it. Spelling it out makes it easier for me to understand the context and just streamlines the editing process.
This style of writing means I really do much more editing but it's worth it if it means I get to write at all! I'm sure there are other tricks I was using as well but you'll have to see those ones for yourself! For now, I hope people enjoy seeing a bit of behind the scenes stuff!
