The Phoenix Flavour - Fallout 4 Release

Hey everyone!

I am incredibly happy, very proud, and kinda relieved to finally announce The Phoenix Flavour for Fallout 4, a vanilla-plus Wabbajack mod list. While I have only started working on this about half a year ago, the setup is based on my own past Fallout 4 setups and includes many personal favourites.

Features

If you are familiar with The Phoenix Flavour for Skyrim SE, you will know that I always focus on enhancing the existing game rather than adding to it which is precisely what TPF Fallout 4 is supposed to do.

The visuals are largely vanilla with higher-res textures (packed in custom BA2s for better performance). For lighting, I love the combination of True Storms with True Nights and Subtle ENB. Priority was given to performance as I wanted to play at my monitor's native 1440p resolution with steady 60FPS (you can check my hardware on the official website). The list should run very well on most systems at 1080p.

Other features include:

Gameplay-wise very little has changed. However, there are two aspects that were updated significantly: Power armors and settlement building.

Power armors are now harder to find overall. Most full suits in the world were replaced with separate pieces. T-60 pieces were replaced with T-45 pieces, X-01 pieces with T-51 pieces. If you want T-60, you'll need to join (or raid) the Brotherhood of Steel. For the power armor connoisseurs among you there are pieces for three full sets of X-01 armor hidden in the world. Additionally, power armor materials (stat-boosts) and paint jobs (cosmetic only) were separated from one another.

Settlement building was substantially improved by several key mods: This Is Trash allows you to quickly scrap everything, Workshop Framework completely rebuilds and speeds up the workshop system, Place Everywhere allows you to bypasses the "snap" system and Workshop Re-arranged adds hundreds of new objects to build.

Going forward

Now that TPF Fallout 4 is finally out, I am planning to restart my own playthrough (for the ... sixth time?). This means two things for the Wabbajack list: Future updates are likely going to be safe-save (applicable to ongoing playthroughs). However, there won't be any major changes, removals, or additions.

What I might look into at some point is a sort of "Extended" profile with some additions such as custom hairstyles and other mods like VAFS Redux. No promises though, no ETA.

At present I am a little burnt out with modding; I've also got another five exams coming up in the next two weeks. I will do my best to support the list as much as I can, but the next update is likely going to take a bit. This is also due to the fact that I'm not really sure which part I want to work on next. I am curious to hear about everyone's experience playing the list and looking forward to your feedback!

Looking forward to taking to y'all on Discord. Happy modding!

Phoenix
