A thank you & Server update(s)

Thank you for continued patreon support for SteamID, Both new users and long term users. Patreon users who persistently pledge month to month have allowed me to expand out the SteamID network over the months.

You may have noticed prior to the last 5-6 days the servers had been running a lot slower than usual, even after the initial new database server move. The primary database sits on a server with a pair of 1TB NVME drives and there is currently ample space for it to grow into however the web server had slowed due to increased traffic, Likewise with SteamArchive

I have put a new web server into the network and shifted over to that while implementing cloud flare in front of the web server, If required i can now load balance although the costs are not very attractive but providing the support is there it can be done. Cloudflare has stopped tens of thousands of bad visitors , bots and scrapers over the last few days while handling over 1 million requests per day,  and helped reduce the server load.

I have seen increasing comments about people being dis-pleased about SteamID turning into something which requires payment to access data, I guess this is somewhat true however without patreon SteamID would have closed down a long time ago and its thanks to you that it remains running and growing, Google adverts dont even cover my home electric costs for the off-site servers running let alone all the hosting costs of renting servers, services, and licencing costs. There are some other similar sites which can run off basic VPS servers, sadly that is not possible for SteamID due to its scale. Recent fresh profile loads have reduced in load times dramatically due to upgrades and changes put in place this last week or so.

SteamArchive.net requires attention as i am out of disk space for this yet again, so that will require additional drives and more electric costs as another host is required, unless i can get my hands on some cheap used 2.5 inch SAS drives, that's still about £400 for the array for used, unknown drives which could fail or be in a predicted failure state.. So maybe back to buying another NAS and fitting some 3.5 inch drives. (if anyone has any 4+bay NAS for sale let me know)

I could ramble on network, hardware and software changes for ages, Sadly your support does not help my spelling or grammar but... thank you.

edit: I have again recently been looking into the costs of a dedicated line again, that way i could host everything but it runs into thousands
