Heyo, how's everyone holding up? Looks like much the world is getting another COVID wave, my country included, to which brings me to raise this topic.
A 3rd wave of COVID is going on and my district has been declared a Red Zone with new nearby clusters almost everyday.
I'm surviving restrictions well enough, arting keeps me occupied and I'm naturally indoorsy. My folks... don't take it too well, deprived of their outings. Two weeks into a raised alert and there've already been a few stepped toes.
If the gov plans for another extended CMCO after the 27th, it's gonna be a repeat of May all over again; weeks to months of cabin fever and jostling for personal space.
If things go bad, once again, Patreon is the expendable part of the equation. It goes a few ways:
CONTINUE - I keep at it. If I treat the pledged amount to commission rates, that'd realisticly cover 3 single characters, colored; or 4 - 5 inkings. Which are doable even at the worst of times. I'm not hurting for money though, got a decent commission list until December.
ROLLING PAUSES - I keep pausing by the 3rd week of every month until situation normalizes. Patreon is still live, I can still post the occassional updates, but I have to remind myself to check my pausing status.
UNLAUNCH - I turn the lights off and my patreon goes dark. Everyone remains in their subscribed tiers, no one gets charged until I'm comfortable restarting, whenever that is. This is disaster-level option if things go full curfew-and-military-lockdown, where I have more pressing matters than arting.
By tomorrow the gov would announce whether my state is gonna be Code Red, then I'll weigh whether to close shop, do another pause or if I have enough for a month's artpack. It'll be tight but I can manage an inking a day
