About eating an elephant piece by piece

I love complex projects.

One of the hardest helmets for me was Malenia's (Blade of Miquella, if you know what I mean...). I saw the trailer and just fell in love with this helmet. When I started working on it (suddenly) it turned out to be very layered. Literally. I tried to take on everything at once to do it entirely.

The work went on for a very long time, there were many alterations, since the design of this helmet is quite complex, all the details are connected to each other and changing one entails changing all the other parts. The work lasted over two months. When I finished it... I was exhausted. I was still very pleased with the result, but it was clear that my approach (and it actually was not) needed to be urgently changed.

And yes, a quick googling of "how to make big projects" led to one simple and even obvious idea - the Elephant should be eaten piece by piece. I adjusted surprisingly quickly. This is probably because such a small change in approach gives a very fast result. Every day in the morning I think about what and how I will do today. The main thing in such cases is not to forget that everything can go wrong and give yourself the opportunity to finish something tomorrow. =)

My main fuel for work is to see results. With this approach, it became even easier for me to work, since now I look not only at the final result of the work, but also at each intermediate one. The emotional return from projects has become much greater.
