Detailing

Today I want to talk about detailing models.

I love how much I've improved in this area, how I've improved my sculpting and developed an eye for detail. Good examples of detailing that I like are the King of the Dead Sword and the commission work Chestplate of Elendil. I had a lot of fun working on these models.

I realize that this kind of precision is a bit overkill for FDM printers, but I love the idea that my models can be printed on SLA printers if desired and look wonderful and detailed.

It is possible that in 10 years, SLA printers will become as commonplace as FDM printers are now. And in this case, my models will be relevant even in 10 years due to their possibly excessive detail now :)

When I just started my journey in 3D modeling, I had no idea how far it would take me xD

At that time, I looked at the work of talented modelers and admired the beauty and detail. I tried to improve my skills by taking examples of other people's work that I liked. And now, a few years later, I look at my models and admire them, I like what I do.

And in connection with all of the above, I have a question for you: what do you like about your work, what are you proud of, in what aspects of your work have you managed to improve your skills to such an extent that you are proud of yourself?

Oh, this Perfectionism :D Learning to use something in moderation I think is a cool skill :)

The excellent detail (and quality of the detail, i.e. fine mesh etc.) is one of the reasons I love your art pieces. It will indeed keep them relevant for years to come. In regards to your question: my current job isn't my dream/ideal job, but what I like about my work, or the way I work, is that I will always give myself 110%, even if it's for a job that costs me more energy than that it brings me. Once committed, only perfection is truly good enough (although I've become better at applying that in moderation, which is a skill I improved in a way).
