Hey Hendry, so the goal should always be to hear the lines you want to play first. Like a melody going on in your head. Then use chords, arpeggios and scales to locate those notes on the fretboard. I takes time. Practicing scales and arpeggio shapes is one part of it, the other is listening to and transcribing great players to learn how to hear and create great melodies.

I guess Jack didn't get time to answer. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that you do have to think a lot to learn these things, but, eventually, after a lot of practice, you can play without consciously thinking of the theory, and focus on the emotion.

hey! Jack! Love every lesson you make! here is a problem that i have. after learning the chord and scale, of course, your lessons of how to target the next bar, like seeing the navigation on the map app. i'm kind of get the idea of 'playing the chord change', but i start to do it like a 'math'. you know, i always thinking the next note i play in a 'math mode'. you know what i mean? i wanna know is it a bad habit? or after play and practice enough, will it be a good thing like a 'instinct' to play it? cheers! \m/
